1: Is hair transplant permanent or not?

Yes, hair transplant is permanent in nature, as the transplanted hair is generally extracted from the backside of your own head, where the hairs are genetically more durable.

2: I am having a medical condition can I undergo a hair transplant or not?

Yes, but at first a medical check-up is recommended to understand what complications you are facing.
Some of the common conditions are High Blood pressure, Diabetes, Alopecia etc.
The hair transplant surgeon will only suggest you to undergo the surgery if all the medical conditions are under control.

3: Does the needle or drill will affect the skull or not?

The drilling that is done in hair transplant surgery is only 0.3 mm deep which is sufficient enough to penetrate the upper layer of the skin of your scalp.
So there are no chances of the drill to getting anywhere near your skull.

4: How much pain will I feel during hair transplant?

You won't feel any pain while extraction or implantation of the grafts since you will be provided with local Anaesthesia during the surgery.

5: Will it look natural or not?

Yes, since the procedure involves transplanting your own hair, it gives the most ‘natural look’. This also depends on various factors:

  • The treatment that you choose (for e.g. FUE).
  • The quality of donor hair.
  • How experienced or qualified the specialist is.

6: How long will the hair transplant procedure take?

The timing of the procedure and how long it will take to complete it usually depends on the number of grafts to be implanted.

Ex : If you require a transplant of 1500-2000 hair grafts, it will take 6- 8 hours for its completion.

7: When can I resume my work?

You can resume work from the next day itself unless and until you have to do any heavy field work as you have to be careful and protect the implanted Grafts from direct sunlight and dust.
So wearing a protective headwear is recommended.

8: Are there any post-surgery side effects?

Absolutely no major side effects have been recorded yet, although there are some minor post-surgery side effects like swelling and redness in the implanted area. Though, with proper medication, this can be treated successfully.

Hello, If you have front baldness since last 3 and half years, we would suggest that you consult the trichologist before the baldness level increases. He/She will be able to guide you through the root of your baldness problem. But remember, the eligible age for hair transplant is 25 years. So, the doctor might suggest PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) therapy or medications as the first option as it is frontal baldness. If that doesn't work then he might suggest you opting for the option of hair transplant. Now, it is a little difficult to brief you about the exact cost of hair transplant in Kolkata but we can surely provide you with the approximate cost. The PRP therapy might cost you something between Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 15,000 per session. The cost of transplanting single hair graft can be as little as Rs. 35 per graft and can go up to Rs. 150 per graft. Moreover, the cost depends on per graft required, per sitting/session, technique opted, the technology used, the experience of the surgeon and the clinic. So be prepared for a 5 % to 10 % hike in the cost. And talking about the effect of hair transplant, once done, it is a permanent solution for baldness. You just need to follow the instructions of the doctor and you will have black blooming natural hair within a year. Hope our answer helps you.

Hello, There are both surgical and non-surgical treatments to treat hair loss. Here is a list of treatment: 1. FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) – Surgical The hair from the back of the head is extracted and is implanted on the bald region. The cost differs from clinic to clinic, grafts required and baldness level. Approximately the cost of FUE Hair Transplantation in Kolkata ranges from Rs.25 per graft to Rs.50 per graft. The advantage of FUE hair transplantation is that the recovery is fast. Post surgery if you follow the instructions, you can get back to work within 5 days. 2. FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) – Surgical In this method, a strip of skin containing hair is cut from the back of the scalp (donor area). After which the hair follicles are dissected under a microscope and later implanted into the bald area (recipient area). Again here the cost depends upon the clinic and the grafts required. Approximately the cost of FUT hair transplantation in Kolkata ranges from Rs.20 per graft to Rs.40 per graft. The only disadvantage of this method is that the strip which is cut from the back of the head leaves a scar. 3. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) – Non-Surgical Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a therapy in which the doctor takes blood from your body, puts it in a centrifugal machine which rotates the blood for 10 minutes and separates it into three layers; RBC’s, poor plasma and rich plasma. Later the rich plasma is injected into your baldness area. The rich plasma helps in the natural re-growth of your hair. The cost of PRP treatment ranges from Rs.4000 to Rs.13000 per session. Moreover, there is hardly any recovery time as it is a non-surgical procedure. But before undergoing any of these treatments we recommend you consult a good dermatologist who will be able to guide you further. Only after the physical examination of your scalp, any doctor will be able to suggest a perfect treatment for your hair loss problem. Hope our answer helps you.

Hello, From the information you have provided, I am assuming that you have 1st or 2nd level baldness. Usually, for such type of baldness either the doctor gives you medicines or non-surgical treatment like PRP. The cost depends on the technique which the doctor will suggest to you. The average cost of hair transplant for different techniques is: FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) - Rs. 20 per graft to Rs. 30 per graft. FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) - Rs.40 per graft to Rs.60 per graft. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) - Rs.5000 to Rs.15000 depends on the number of sittings. Yes, it is safe provided you get it done from an experienced hair transplant surgeon and from a good clinic.
