Contrarily, people who quit drinking alcohol can have gout flare-ups due to a sharp drop in uric acid levels. Alcohol usually increases uric acid, but if you stop drinking your body can release stored crystals which cause inflammation and pain. It’s temporary, but seek a doctor for advice to manage gout

Gout is a type of arthritis that is caused by the accumulation of uric acid crystals in the joints. While alcohol consumption can increase the risk of gout, stopping alcohol suddenly can also trigger a gout attack. This is because alcohol interferes with the body's ability to eliminate uric acid, and sudden cessation can cause a rapid increase in uric acid levels.

Alcohol is supposed to be predisposing factor for gout. But it's not scientific proven that gout will only flare if you quit the alcohol.
