Which hospitals and doctors are reputed for the treatment of stage 4 lung cancer in India?

I am writing for my father's treatment. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in April 2018. He had gone through 6 cycles of of Alimta and carboplatin till October and then two cylces of Alimta only till December 2018. Up to October, he was doing great, had no side effects and his tumor size went down. After that he became very fatigued and also his tumor size increased significantly. In January 2019, Doctor put him on Docetaxel and so far he is doing good with no side effect. But, we would like to continue his treatment in your reputed hospital. I have attached his initial PET scan (April 2018) and recent PET scan (January 2019) along with few other CT scan. I appreciate if you could suggest me the doctor for his treatment and help me getting the appointments. Also, it would be very helpful if you can give me idea about the expenses. Since he will be coming from Bangladesh, it will take time to get visa and arrange rest of the stuff. Currently I am in Canada and planning to join him during his initial treatment at your hospital, preferably in March.

Hello, You can bring him to India for treatment given that Bangladesh has a dearth of good hospitals. You can visit any major metropolitan city in India for Lung Cancer treatment. Given it is in Stage 4, only Chemotherapy will be administered. In case of Chemotherapy, the prices depend on the drug prices, the number of cycles the drug is administered and whether you get your father treated in a Government/ Charitable Hospital or a Private Hospital.

The cost of Chemotherapy are as follows:

  • Government Hospital: Here they provide affordable/free treatment depending on your economic condition but the waiting period can be long. The approximate cost per cycle is 200 USD - 500 USD (14,300 INR  - 35600 INR)
  • Private Hospitals: Here the treatment would come at a premium, but you will not have to wait. The approximate cost per cycle is 1200 USD - 1500 USD (85,300 INR - 107,000 INR)

Hope my answer helps you out! You can find hospitals for lung cancer on this page - Lung Cancer Treatment Hospitals in India.

Hello Brahmaiah, from the details you have given, we understand that your father has been facing a recurrence of cancer in the lungs. Since the doctors have said that chemotherapy is not an option, the best alternative treatment is immunotherapy. The hospitals you can visit are mentioned in the following page: Lung Cancer Treatment Hospitals in India. It is advisable that you consult any of this hospital as quickly as possible. Hope this answers your query.

Persistent throat pain can have many causes.. and while smoking is a known risk factor for throat cancer, it doesn't necessarily mean you have cancer if you experience throat pain. There are many other possible reasons for throat discomfort, like infections, allergies, acid reflux, or even smoking-related issues like irritation and inflammation. If you're very concerned you can visit for a checkup at your nearest cancer hospital.

The findings from this PET-CT scan suggest the presence of multiple hypermetabolic (actively metabolizing) lesions in various parts of the body. This pattern of findings raises concerns about the possibility of metastatic cancer, meaning that cancer may have spread from its original site to other areas of the body. The exact stage and extent of cancer would require further evaluation by an oncologist from the best cancer hospital in India, including additional tests and imaging.

If your PSA level has risen after previous treatments for prostate cancer,Plz consult with the best oncology hospital in India or your urologist. An increase in PSA levels may indicate a recurrence or progression of the cancer. The next steps will depend on your health, the extent of the cancer, and the treatments you've already received..

Bone marrow therapy is not used to treat spinal cord injuries, including C5 incomplete injuries. Treatment for spinal cord injuries focuses on rehabilitation, physical therapy, and medical management to maximize function and improve quality of life.

If someone you know is dealing with liver cancer, ask them to consult a specialist in liver diseases and cancers to determine the extent and stage of the cancer. Based on the diagnosis, the doctors will recommend treatment options like surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy. They need to focus on managing symptoms and side effects, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and consider joining support groups. Regular check-ups and collaboration with their oncologist team will be important for monitoring and managing the cancer effectively.
