One myth that we intend to bust before we elaborate any further on liposuction is, that it isn't a weight-loss alternative. If losing weight is your goal then you will benefit more from dieting, exercising and even through bariatric procedures such as gastric bypass surgery. You might be an ideal candidate for this procedure however, if you have too many fat deposits in specific spots but otherwise have a stable body overall. But you must consider possible risks that you will run into, before you undergo this surgery, that is: you can bleed, develop some skin infection, experience nerve irritation, your body may react to anesthesia, your skin may look bumpy, wavy, withered or uneven, fat embolism which is a medical emergency, kidney, heart and lungs diseases, or accumulation of fluid beneath skin on some region of your body which if happens then will require a separate mini-surgery, so you may want to discuss these complications with the specialists before taking up this operation. If you don't maintain weight constantly then your body may return to its original shape. This operation can range from rs. 20,000 to rs. 5,00,000 or more, depending upon volume of fat to be removed, expertise of doctor and location as well as infrastructural facilities of the clinic. This page will help you find surgeons who would be better equipped to handle your queries if at all you sought consultation services or book an appointment with them - Liposuction doctors in Mumbai, or any other city if you let us know about it!

In Liposuction doctors only remove fat and in abdominoplasty its removing of extra hanging loose skin. Liposuction involves making small incisions in the targeted area, inserting a thin tube called a cannula, and suctioning out the fat cells.

Complete growth of face occurs upto 18-21 yrs

Most plastic surgeons in India recommend having a nose job only after the nose has fully grown. This means that girls can get a nose job done only after they reach 15 or 16 years of age, and boys can get a nose job done after 16 or 17 years of age. But if one is suffering from a congenital facial disability, for example, a cleft palate, the plastic surgeon may advise going for a nose job earlier. And there isn’t any maximum age for getting a nose job as long as you are in a good health condition and do not suffer from the following health problems:

  • Lung disease
  • Heart disease
  • Obesity
  • High cholesterol
  • Hypertension
  • Diabetes etc.

Hope this answers your question. If you have any other queries or concerns, you can please feel free to connect with any of the best rhinoplasty doctors in India. They will be glad to answer your questions and give solutions to your problems.

The shape of your nose can change for the following reasons:

  • Can cartilage move after rhinoplasty? Yes, but in rare cases - In rhinoplasty cases where the bones need to be broken, the patients will heal within three weeks, and their nose won't move afterward. But if the septum's cartilage is crooked, it might deviate. Spreader graft is generally used to minimize the possibility.
  • If you had either implant or cartilage graft, it is possible for the cartilage to shift, causing a lumpy and unattractive look.
  • Aging: Your nose composes of - cartilage, soft tissues, and fat. The soft tissues contain collagen, which decomposes after a while. This will eventually make the nose droopy & stretched, causing it to change shape. These alterations may appear more significant on a nose that has been previously operated upon, as its internal structure will be more compromised.

when can i wear glasses after rhinoplasty?

When can i wear glasses after rhinoplasty?

In short - after six weeks to 3 months.

A more detailed answer is presented below:

  • Patients wear splints for 1 – 2 weeks post rhinoplasty. They protect your nose and keep the bones and cartilage intact. Here most patients can wear glasses, provided they are light-weight.
  • However, the splint is removed after 1-2 weeks, and the healing process is still incomplete. So in this stage, you can't wear your glasses and will have to wait for six weeks to 3 months.

Other alternatives that you can consider wearing post rhinoplasty surgery:

  • Contact lenses
  • Eyeglass holders
  • Post-surgical glasses (post-surgical glasses that have the ultra-light frame)
  • Optic-Bridge clamps

  • For approximately three to four weeks post rhinoplasty, you should avoid blowing your nose and/or sneezing.
  • Blowing your nose too early during your recovery of rhinoplasty phase may cause bleeding and/or displace carefully positioned parts of the nose, thereby disrupting the intended result.
  • You will undoubtedly experience some breathing obstruction for the first week after surgery, but be patient. Once the cast is removed, gently cleaning with salt water and blowing your nose will help you remove blood clots or mucus from your nose.
  • You can certainly use a mist, salt spray, or water to help clear your nose. Doctors often suggest patients to inject Polysporin into the nostrils to soften blood clots.
  • If you feel the need to unclog your nose, you can try saline irrigation or decongestants as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Blowing the nose should generally not be a strong urge after rhinoplasty because the nasal passage is either narrow or completely blocked, and the resulting discomfort will discourage you from having this desire.

  • For the first few weeks after surgery, rhinoplasty patients are frequently told to sleep on their backs with their heads elevated. The nose will be secured in its position as it heals, reducing the chances of swelling.
  • You will be discharged from the medical facility with a surgical dressing and a nasal splint covering your nose. The same will shield your nose and prevent its delicate structures from getting displaced. So you should be fine in case you roll over during your sleep, but conversely, it may cause nasal congestion and worsen pain & bruising.
  • Three weeks post rhinoplasty, the positioning of your nasal bones should become firmer, and it should be able to withstand as much as gentle pressure being applied to it. But it takes six weeks for the bones to heal completely, so avoid sleeping on your back till then.

To conclude: Avoid sleeping on your side for 6 weeks.

Do’s and Don’ts of Post-Rhinoplasty Sleep

  • Avoid consuming caffeine.
  • Utilize painkillers.
  • Avoid sleeping with anyone.
  • Use additional pillows.
  • Do lie on your back to sleep.
  • Take more time to rest than usual.
  • Sleeping on the stomach is forbidden.
