  • Medicated treatments mentioned below, can help you out (the weaker strength-based versions are available over the counter, but you will require a clinical prescription if you need a stronger concentration):
    1. Benzoyl peroxide (kills acne-causing bacteria),
    2. Salicylic acid (allows exfoliation),
    3. Retinoids (prevents inflammation and pimple formation),
    4. Azelaic acid (anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory),
    5. Topical antibiotics (eliminates bacteria and decreases inflammation).

Caution: They tend to make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so with expert supervision, you would know what kind of sunscreen to use and in how much quantity, therefore read package instructions and consult a physician for beginners.

  • Advanced treatments: if OTC drugs or clinical prescriptions fail, then there are advanced options available too, such as laser resurfacing, chemical peel, dermabrasion and microdermabrasion.

  • To get in touch with experts, refer our page - Dermatologists in India.

  • Your basic skincare routine should comprise of following steps:
    1. Begin your daily routine with face wash which is either of foam consistency or gel, whatever matches with your skin type,
    2. Then apply moisturizer when your face is still wet, to lock the moisture in,
    3. And then use a sunscreen of appropriate SPF,
    4. Repeat aforementioned steps at night, just replace sunscreen with a night cream,
    5. For all these products, you need to know what ingredients they contain and what you are supposed to avoid while buying skin care products that serve people with similar skin type and issues as you.

The dark rings forming around your lips hint at hyperpigmentation, which may have resulted from melasma, a hormonal condition, or from side effects caused by prescription medicines, sun exposure, acne break-out, or fungal infection, as well as vitamin deficiencies.

A dermatologist will recommend any of the following depending on the extent of problem:

  1. prescription based acids
  2. laser therapy for dark spots
  3. chemical peels

  • Charges of laser hair removal for half of the legs range anywhere between rs. 2,000 to rs. 8,000 for each session.
It will get most of your hair removed, but as it's not permanent therefore the hair will grow back after a while.
  • Electrolysis hair removal treatment on another hand can ensure permanency in removing hair, but is costlier, and will charge rs. 800 to rs. 5000 per hour.
  • The temporal side effects of both treatment actions are pain, redness and swellings.
  • But if not done properly, then can result in permanent scarring and changes in skin color.

We are aware of following options as far as skin whitening treatments are concerned:

  1. Chemical peel (Rs. 1,800-5,500): a solution holding alpha-hydroxy acid will be applied to your skin, which will peel the damaged upper layers of your skin and combat the melanin build-up, to expose healthy tissue beneath.
  2. Laser (Rs. 4,000-30,000): This method will make use of an intense light beam to reduce melanin content in your skin. It will make your skin healthier and brighter than before and will help you overcome tanning and dark spots as well.
  3. Injections (Rs. 6,000-40,000): they can detoxify the body, protect your skin from the harmful UV rays and improve your skin tone. It will utilize a dosage of glutathione, which can detoxify the body and serve as a barrier against harmful UV rays too, but however, they can be unsafe and may have severe side effects as well.
  4. Skin lightening products (Rs. 200-20,000: This option will provide you with a wide range of creams that have bleaching properties. These are good for instant gratification but may not deliver long-lasting results.

You may have to approach a highly experienced dermatologist to avail above-mentioned treatments, you can refer to our page - dermatologists in India, to get more information.

All acne is caused by clogged pores, but non-inflammatory acne doesnt has bacteria in it and is not situated deeper within the pores either. When oil, bacteria, and other foreign substances get caught deeper within your pores, your body’s natural defense is to produce pus. In short, pus filled acne indicates the presence of bacteria.
For inflammatory acne treatment, you have the following options:

  1. Over-the-counter drugs: use skincare products that have Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.
  2. Appropriate skincare regime: Wash your face in the morning and night, wear oil-free moisturizer once you are done washing your face, and wear sunscreen as the final step of your skincare routine. And please don't scratch or pop them.
  3. If you don't find changes even after several months of following these steps, then reach out to an expert: they will have topical retinoids, isotretinoin, oral antibiotics, topical antibiotics, and hormonal medications, or even advanced clinical treatments.

Please do not use any home remedial solution: because what we have observed so far is, that people apply seemingly healthy ingredients to their skin, without knowing how to extract the right chemicals from them, or what their chemical composition actually is, or how same could react with their skin post-application.
Just because your skin feels cool/smooth after applying them, doesn't mean that they worked.

Laser hair removal treatment (rs. 1,500 to rs. 55,000 for each session) can slow down hair growth & produce results that stay for a long time, but they won't be permanent.

Electrolysis hair removal treatment on another hand is the only known permanent method which is recognized by the FDA, the cost of which can fall within the range of rs. 800 to rs. 5,000 per hour.

Charges of both treatments may vary depending upon the type of equipment, location, number of sessions, body parts treated and the area covered. Electrolysis would additionally depend on your hair density as well.

For more information, you can refer our page - Dermatologists in India, and reach out to experts. You can also message us whenever you are having any confusion.

The temporary side effects of both treatments include pain, redness and swellings.

But if not done correctly, then they can lead to scarring and changes in skin color as well.

Some types of hyperpigmentation might go away, but some may not, depends on the severity of the issue, as in how deep the scarring is, or to what extent the skin gets covered.
Without treatment, the fading will take 3 months to 2 years, whereas with treatment the results may be fast-paced but the degree of effectiveness remains to be seen.
