Hello Sruthi, We would recommend that before going under any infertility treatment like IVF, ICSI, etc. thyroid hormone levels(TSH) must be brought into balance because it is important to keep your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) at optimum level as it affects ovulation. Further, we would suggest you consult this issue in some of the reputed clinics of Mumbai which is mentioned below: 1) Nova IVI Fertility Clinic (Chembur, Andheri West, Sanpada Navi Mumbai) 2) Fortis Bloom IVF Centre (Bandra, West) 3) Spring Fertility Clinic (Parel, East) Hope this answer helps you.

Hello Ritu, To undergo IVF treatment after 40 will generally, be dependent on your own specific circumstances. By mentioning specific circumstances, I am considering both your fertility and medical history. The IVF doctor might ask you to get a few tests done to understand the exact reason for not conceiving naturally. If he recommends IVF then the process will be as follows:                                 IVF Treatment: In a standard cycle of IVF, you will have to take medication for 7-10 days to stimulate your ovaries to grow and also mature multiple egg follicles. Under anesthesia, the eggs will be retrieved and then they will be combined with the sperms of your partner. They will be left overnight for fertilization to take place. If the eggs are fertilized then the resultant embryo will be transferred to your uterus after 3 to 5 days. And after around two weeks you will have to undergo a pregnancy test to verify whether you have conceived or not. For further knowledge regarding this treatment, you can consult the renowned Doctors of Mumbai listed below: 1. Dr. Mohit R Saraogi  2. Dr. Nandita P Palshetkar  3. Dr. priti kadam 4. Dr. Shubhada Khandeparkar 5. Dr. Hrishikesh Pai  Hope this answer helps you.

Hello , As you are already suffering from azoospermia problem ICSI would likely be a better option compared to IVF. Also, your past history with IVF treatment didn’t work so it is quite clear that ICSI may give successful result in the future. You can also consult the doctor about IMSI treatment (Intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection) which can be also considered in the case of Azoospermia. In this technique sperm cells are examined using an advanced and a highly magnified microscope that helps in the selection of better sperm that is having the highest chance of achieving successful fertilization. Hope this answer helps you.

Hello, Yes, IVF does give successful results in the case of male infertility. However, the fertility doctor will use the method of ICSI (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection) to fertilize the egg. In this method, a single sperm is directly injected into the egg. ICSI is used in the following cases: • If your sperm count is less • The sperm has poor motility (Does not move normally) • The shape of the sperm is abnormal (Poor morphology) • The sperm may have to be collected surgically due to a blockage in the male reproductive tract or if you have undergone a vasectomy. Hope this information helps you.

Hello Irvin, Surrogacy and IVF are two different processes. Surrogacy is only employed when the woman is not able to conceive or not able to carry the pregnancy to a term of her own. It may be because of any health issue related to fertility such as the absence of the uterus or severe medical complicacy. We hope this answer may help you.

Hello, You can definitely think of IVF but sperm washing will be required in your case. It is very helpful to understand that sperm washing will reduce the risk but is not a risk-free method as technically, the virus could still be present in the washed sample at a titer below the detection limit of the HIV assay. So consult an HIV specialist to understand the technical details. Hope our answer helps you.

Hello, In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a process where the eggs are fertilized outside the body. During this procedure, the woman is given medications so that she can produce several eggs that are extracted when they are mature and combined with the sperm sample given by her partner. If the eggs are fertilized by the sperm, they are kept in a special incubator to develop for three to five days. The fertilized eggs are called embryos. These embryos are then transferred to the uterus. The cost of IVF in Hyderabad is approximately Rs. 100000 to Rs. 250000.
