Hello Tulshi, As per our knowledge, Kienbock disease also known as avascular necrosis in which the lunate bone, one of eight bones in the wrist, suffers the blood loss which leads to death of the bone. Basically, the treatment options depend upon the severity of the disease.

In the early stages, the treatment can be observation or immobilization. And for more advanced stages, usually, surgery is recommended. Hand therapy is only designed to relieve pain and restore function and not for changing the course of the disease. For further and better treatment, you can consult any orthopedist.

To ease your search, you can refer to our list of Best Orthopedists in Kolkata.

Hope our answer helps you.

Knee replacement surgery is done to replace the damaged joints so patient is relieved of symptoms. The knee joint with an artificial knee called prosthesis made of metal, plastic, and ceramic. It helps to restore function of the damaged knee and relieve arthritis pain. Knee replacement surgery is advised if the pain is interfering with your daily activities and negatively affecting your quality of life. Types of knee replacement surgery Simultaneous bilateral knee replacement - When both knees are replaced at the same time. The primary advantage of a procedure is that there is only one hospital stay and one rehabilitation period to heal both knees. But rehabilitation may be slower. Also these patients may need assistance at home also. Generalized fitness is important here. Staged bilateral knee replacement- Each knee is replaced at a different time. These surgeries are done a few months apart. This staged approach helps one knee to recover before the second surgery. The main advantage of a this procedure is the reduced risk of complications and also requires a shorter hospital stay. However, since this procedure requires two surgeries, the overall rehabilitation period can be longer. Either surgery may involve any combination of total knee replacement or partial knee replacement. The risks associated with this surgery: infection, blood clots, failure of the artificial joint, heart attack etc. Post surgery care, rehabiliatation is very important. Hope our answer helps you.

By both knees have been swollen and could not walk freely. It is very difficult to get on rickshaw or e_ rickshaw. Besides this I am suffering from food drop problem in right leg. Please advise whether both keen replacement is necessary for me and whether I have to face any difficulty if I do my operation outside my home City i.e. Kolkata.

As per my understanding you want to know about the 1. Total knee replacement and 2. IVF. 1. Total Knee replacement surgery is done to replace the damaged joints so patient is relieved of symptoms. The knee joint with an artificial knee called prosthesis made of metal, plastic, and ceramic. It helps to restore function of the damaged knee and relieve arthritis pain. Knee replacement surgery is advised if the pain is interfering with your daily activities and negatively affecting your quality of life. Generalised fitness is important here. Total knee replacement is being done on the patients routinely, but some of the risks associated with this surgery are infection, blood clots, failure of the artificial joint, heart attack etc. Post surgery care, rehabilitation is very important. Consult an orthopedic. 2. In vitro fertilisation (IVF) is a process of fertilization, where an egg is combined with sperm and fertilised outside the body, in a liquid in a laboratory. Consult a gynaecologist, who on valuation the case will guide through the treatment. Hope our answer helps you.

Hello, It is little difficult to tell you the exact cost but the cost of partial knee replacement ranges from ₹1,80,000 to ₹4,15,000. Cost of partial knee replacement depends on various factors such as: • Hospital (whether it is a government hospital or private hospital) • The city in which the hospital is situated • Types of implant used • surgery approach (traditional approach or minimally invasive approach) The overall cost of your surgery can increase due to additional costs such as: • Medical tests that you need to undergo before and after surgery. • Medicines prescribed. • physiotherapy cost All these factors together will decide the total cost for your partial knee replacement surgery. Hope our answer helps you.

Nerve damage may also occur as a result of knee replacement surgery because the peroneal nerve resides close to the tibia bone. In fact, nerve damage is one reason why some patients with knee replacement complain of persistent lateral knee pain and loss of function.

Consult an orthopedic, who will explain you in detail about the complications of knee replacement surgery. Hope our answer helps you.

Robotic knee replacement surgery can be done for a patient whoever is a good candidate for traditional knee replacement surgery. Robot-assisted knee replacement surgery may potentially reduce recovery time of a patient post surgery. But more research is needed to determine if robot-assisted knee replacement surgery is more effective for total knee replacement. Consult an orthopedic surgeon. Hope our answer helps you.
