You can improve eye contact in autism by following ways:
- Eye Contact Modelling - Maintain an eye contact while talking to autism patient. Do not divert your attention while talking to them.
- Gentle Remiders - Touch their chin, tell hem to "look at me", etc.
- Meals - It is a great way to practice eye contact. Keep the food between the vision of your eyes and patient. They will look to grab food and simultaneously make an eye contact.
- Pausing Technique - Pause before responding to their request. When they feel you don't answer immediately, they will look at you.
