I want to remove a scar from the last FUT procedure. Any suggestions regarding treatment would be deeply appreciated. It has made my life extremely difficult.

The only options we can think of, with regards to your concern of getting FUT scars concealed, are hair tattooing and laser scar revision surgery.

In tattooing procedure, some ink is injected into your scars to make them appear similar to your natural hair strands.

Whereas laser revision treatment results in collagen getting boosted which then reduces the overall appearance of your scar.

Hi I am a 33 years woman. I am looking for a good hair transplant clinic in aurangabad. But as I am working I am pretty worried about timing. I learned from a few people that this surgery takes a long time to heal. That's why I couldn't finalize anything yet. Can you please suggest a clinic that won’t take much time for the surgery?

  • Hair transplant surgery anywhere will take the same amount of time to complete, and that is 4 to 8 hours depending on complications faced and also divided into multiple sessions, followed by a few additional sessions for checkups.
  • Likewise can be said for healing or recovery time where your scalp will get used to changes, and which in turn will take 2-3 weeks.
  • But with an experienced surgeon you will get better results in terms of how naturally the grafts are placed to bring out your face, and your entire experience with the surgery will also be less straining. Refer our page to find appropriate specialists - Hair transplant surgeons.
  • You can also get detailed information about this surgery and its cost breakdown/subtypes, through our blog - Hair transplant in India.

Since transplanted hair mimics our natural hair thus they will shed owing to aging different stages of hair growth, but other than that they should be permanent, this is if we speak of hair follicles transplanted from donor's region to the balding spot of your body.

Though we are not sure about artificial implants; biosynthetic hair implants ((not many clinics provide it, but this is an option that can be considered if no region on your body can qualify as donor's region)).

You can reach out to a specialist for information pertaining to this issue - Hair transplant surgeons.

Hi I have some finance-related issues. Can I do half of the procedure now and then after 5-6 months the remaining procedure? I spoke to a few clinics but they didn't give me any clear idea about this. Can I do this?

  • We would like to begin by clarifying that our services are limited to this portal only, through which we educate people on alternative treatments, doctors and other options available for them.
  • Coming to your query, while we do not think that any clinic will agree to do half the surgery now and then remainder afterwards, but clinics generally prvide EMI/loan facilities, or otherwise even your insurance could have some provision for which you should contact your insurer.

Beyond this, we do not know of any other option provided by clinics to help with the financial problems of their patients, you can equire with more clinics though.

I have acne problem and also wrinkles on forehead

  • For wrinkles and acne, we would advise you to avoid smoking and to constantly wear sunscreen.
  • A doctor would mostly put you on a course of prescription medicines, OTC solutions, and other topicals, along with suggesting lifestyle improvements.
  • If they don't yield the desired output, then they might suggest below-mentioned treatments for wrinkles:
Chemical peels, dermabrasion/microdermabrasion, laser toning, facelifts, ultrasound, and injections.
    • Significance of each treatment in no specific order:
Peels intend to smoothen fine lines and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, while dermabrasion/microdermabrasion reaches to the derma and sometimes epidermis layer of the skin, so as to level out textural anomalies, then laser toning softens skin & stimulates collagen which helps in plumping up your face, whereas facelifts & ultrasound therapy tightens the muscles, and finally injections fills the hollowness and gives your face a lift as well.
  • For acnes, the dermatologist would provide you with the following options if medicines/lifestyle fixes don't deliver the desired results (no specific order to how & when they would be considered):
Light therapy, chemical peel, comedone extraction, and injections.
    • Their significance:
Chemical peels make your skin soft and reduces appearance, whereas in comedone extraction, blackheads & whiteheads are removed, and injections can release steroids into pimples/cysts and reduce them over a period of time.

I have a scar on my forehead which i would like to get rid of. What can be done to cover it up? Will the procedure be safe? How much will it cost? How much time would be required for recovering?

You should seek help of an experienced dermatologist.

  • On going to a dermatologist, they will first put you up on a course of either prescription or OTC medications and if your conditions don't see much improvement, or if the pace of improvement slows down after the initial stages, then they will further move towards surgical procedures.
  • There are many surgical options that can be implemented to treat scarred skin, such as: grafts, dermabrasion, or laser surgery.
    • In a skin graft (Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,20,000), the surgeon extracts skin from another part of your body, and uses it to fill your scarred region depending upon how deep it is ((used with people having burns)).
    • Dermabrasion (Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 6,000) is carried out on raised scars for smoothing and leveling the textural abnormalities of the scar and its uneven edges, to blends the scar with its surroundings - and microdermabrasion essentially does the same thing, but by reaching out to the deeper layers within skin.
    • While laser surgery (Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 20,000 per session) stimulates collagen, reduces redness and softens the scar.
  • Recovery time for each patient is highly specific and changes depending on what kind of scars you have and what other complications you present with, so an experienced dermatologist can help with same!
  • Note: The approximate cost ranges that we mention can be exceeded by actual incurred charges when you would be undergoing some treatment, because various factors affect overall cost. Such as - experience of treating clinician, complications faced, severity of concern, location & infrastructure of the clinic, or value-added services.

The specialist will be able to assess your hair better.

Laser slows down the rate of hair growth but hormonal conditions can render it vain, so the specialist will be a better judge.

Even if it is suitable for you can still risk your skin turning dark due to intense heat of laser, as a result of which you should carefully pick the expert that will handle your case, and post-treatment you will have to avoid hot showers and exposure to sun, and will have to use sunscreens or other creams to soothe your skin, your doctor will guide you on same.

Other likely side effects include swelling, redness, and scarring, but they are temporary.

Depending on the degree to which your acne & spots are raised, you can also explore the undermentioned options:

  • Laser treatment: Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 22,000
  • Microdermabrasion: Rs. 1500 to Rs. 6000
  • Chemical peels: Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 10,000 per session.
    • These can work for people of all skin types, but if you have any skin condition such as pigmentation/etc, then there could be complications.
    • The incurred cost can exceed the range estimated by us, owing to factors such as location/experience of the clinician, severity of concern, number of sessions, area covered, and value-added services provided by the clinic.

Currently, there are 3 kinds of clinical procedures to help you combat dark circles:

  • Bleaching creams: To lighten the hyperpigmentation under your eyes.
  • Advanced treatments:
    • Laser therapy: Where heat produced by intense light beam vaporizes damaged cells beneath your eyes.
    • Chemical peel: A blend of skin-nutritive acids which is applied to your skin and peeled off later on to eliminate all impurities.
  • Minimally invasive techniques:
    • There is a surgical technique to remove fat from your lids if the shadow casted by them is the culprit to be blamed, also known as blepharoplasty.
    • And otherwise, you can also inject certain acids into the tissues underneath your eyes, so as to overcome volume loss under your eyes which could have contributed to the appearance of dark circles as well, they are known as fillers.

We have curated a list of dermatologists in India, refer it to get in touch with skilled practitioners and enquire about the above-mentioned options.

Drop us a message if you have any other doubt or if you want a city-specific list to ease your search for a specialist of desired mix. Take care!
