The implant of an eye depends on the possible look of the patient after the implant, the patient's general condition and also the budget of the patient. Keeping all these factors in mind and discussing with the doctor decide on further treatment procedures. Please take the opinion of an ophthalmologist. After the implant, it has to be taken care of. Your surgeon will explain to you post-operative care in detail.

Your keratoconus surgery options include the following typess of corneal transplant (that is a part of eye), depending on the location of bulging cone and severity of condition:

  1. Penetrating keratoplasty: For corneal scarring or extreme thinning. Penetrating keratoplasty is a transplant of entire cornea. In this procedure, doctors remove a portion of your central cornea and replace it with the donor's tissue.
  2. Deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK): Preserves the inner lining of the cornea (endothelium), but rest of cornea tissues are replaced. This helps avoid the rejection of this critical inside lining that can occur with a full-thickness transplant.

But this is based on our limited understanding, you can approach other doctors for second opinions - Ophthalmologists in India.

Are you talking about eye floaters? The black or gray specks, strings, or cobwebs dominating your vision?

  1. It could be age related changes induced in eyes, inflammation, bleeding to the eye & retina, or as a result of surgical complications and medicinal side effects affecting your eyes.
  2. But no matter what the cause, for eye floaters treatment your options are either surgery or laser.
  3. Make your doctor aware of all the medications that you take and if at all you have comorbidities. You can find them on our page - Ophthalmologists in India.

Let us know if you have any unaddressed query or if we misunderstood your condition.

Try cold compresses or use some kind of lubrication such as eyedrops, but they will provide temporary comfort and only an ophthalmologist can decide otherwise what the next course of action should be, you can take second opinions from others however - Best Ophthalmologists in India.

If you are completely blind then you won't benefit from corneal transplantation, however if you are not entirely blind on either or both eyes then in that case corneal transplantation can help -- as the name itself suggests, entire eye won't be transplanted but only a part of it, which in general is cornea. But even for cornea itself, its partiality or fullness while being transplanted into your eyes, would depend on the extent to which your eyes are damaged. You can receive this kind of donation either from a dead person, or from a living person who's eyes aren't in a working state but cornea happens to be clean. While we can't perform any treatment or surgery, but we can put you in touch with institutes/surgeons who can - Corneal Transplantation doctors in Mumbai. Let us know if your city is different!
