Benozyl peroxide (kills bacterial linked with acne), salicylic acid (for exfoliation), retenoids (reduces inflammation and prevents further formation of pimples), azelaic acid (anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory), and topical antibiotics (kills bacteria and reduces inflammation) - while some of these are available over the counter, but others will require medical prescription, and even for ones that are easily available a doctor will have stronger version available for same. They would make you more sensitive to sun so an expert would be able to help you figure out what kind of sunscreen to use and in what frequency to make use of these. Pigmentation is your normal skin-color, whereas hyperpigmentation is darker skin tone and hypopigmentation is lighter skin tone. Hyperpigmentation treatment will allow you to choose from various options such as creams, face acids, retinoids, chemical peels, laser therapies, dermabrasion and microdermabrasion, they are advised by the dermatologist depending on the extent to which your skin is dark, and other issues that might be visible on your skin as well. They get rid of darkness and provide exfoliating benefits, and can effectively hide scars, spots and sun damage too. Hypopigmentation treatment on another hand includes options such as dermabrasion, chemical peel, laser resurfacing and lightening gels, but you may require other kinds of treatment if at all there's an underlying issue behind this appearance. They help with acne and spots too. Since this cannot be treated at home, therefore an experienced dermatologist would be your best guide. For mole removal, it is either of the 2 surgeries that a dermatologist will perform:
Surgical excision: entire mole will be cut out and the skin would be stitched closed in certain cases if it is necessary to.
Surgical shave: a surgical blade is used to shave off mole.
In both kind of surgeries, your mole will be examined under a microscope. If cancer cells are found, then your dermatologist will inform you.
This would cost between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000, depending on location of clinic, expertise of doctor, and size or depth of mole. You can connect with experts, through our page - Mole Removal doctors in Mumbai, or that of any other city which you prefer.

Only a dermatologist will be able to help you, and for that they would have to examine you in person so that they know the severity of these concerns, and other underlying issues responsible for this state of your skin. There are skin types such a dry, combination and oily, and the degree of sensitivity helps in determining how strongly your skin can react to certain aggregators. A doctor will mostly start with medication, skin care products specific to your skin type, and lifestyle changes, and in some cases may go for suggesting some advanced treatment based on your medical history. To know more, we would advice you to get in touch with specialists who have an expertise on the said subject, through our page - Skin Treatment doctors in Mumbai, or that of any other city. Regarding hyperpigmentation, there are treatments such as creams, face acids, retinoids, chemical peels, laser treatments, and dermabrasion & microdermabrasion devices, which are prescribed by the dermatologist depending on the extent to which your skin could be dark, and if you have any other skin issue as well. They can either be performed alone, or in combination with some other treatment, and you will have to prepare your body before getting these treatments, so that the chances of you running into any risk post-treatment reduces. This is mostly achieved by avoiding certain drugs or products containing certain ingredients, which the doctor will be able to explain better. In fact even your medical history will play some role in determining whether you are fit for any of these treatments or not. They get rid of darkness and can provide exfoliating benefits as well, along with hiding scars, spots and sun damage too, and accordingly will help with darkness in your underarm region as well. There are minor surgical techniques for mole removal. To know more, you can connect with experts through our page - Skin Treatment doctors in Mumbai, or that of any other city.

This condition is not curable, treatment for it however, may either restore color to the affected skin, or slow down loss of color due to this condition. Medications and certain light-based therapies can help restore skin color or even out skin tone, but the results vary and are unpredictable, they may have serious side effects as well keeping your condition in mind. Doctors generally suggest tanning or makeup. If your doctor decides to treat you with a drug, surgery or therapy, the process may take many months to start showing results. Even if treatment is successful, the results wont last long as new patches will reappear. Your doctor might recommend applying a medication to the skin to help prevent relapse. For more information, you can get in touch with experts on our page - Vitiligo Treatment doctors in Mumbai.

We are aware of following, as far as skin whitening treatments are concerned:
Chemical peel (Rs. 1,800-5,500): An exfoliating solution consisting of alpha-hydroxy acid will be applied to your skin, it will work on the upper damaged layers and combat melanin pigment within. This concentration strength will come in 3 options, such as light, medium or deep, and work effectively on blemishes, dark spots and uneven skin tone.
Laser (Rs. 4,000-30,000): This technique will use an intense light to minimize melanin within your skin by breaking pigments down. Thus causing your skin to become brighter than before, it will remove tanning and dark spots.
Injections (Rs. 6,000-40,000): can detoxify the body, while they protect your skin from harmful UV rays and enhance its tone, they will also have a dosage of glutathione contained within them, which can be unsafe and have severe side effects too.
Skin lightening products (Rs. 200-20,000): By this we mean a wide range of creams that have bleaching properties. These won't deliver long lasting results but will give some results with regular application.

For mole removal, there are 2 surgeries:
Surgical excision: entire mole is cut out and the skin is stitched closed if necessary.
Surgical shave: mole is removed with the help of a surgical blade to remove.
In both cases, your mole will be examined under a microscope. If cancer cells are found, your dermatologist will let you know.

You are required to approach a dermatologist to avail above treatments, you can refer from our list of Dermatologists in India, to get more information. A doctor will know better how many number of sessions to conduct, same will possibly depend on skin issues, severity of concern and type of treatment you will be deemed fit for.

This problem is mainstream and easily treatable under guidance of dermatologists, they will first study your skin type and severity of concern, or its ability to react to aggressors, accordingly they will suggest changes based on diet, hygiene, and exercise, they will also know which creams and other skin care products will match your skin and what ingredients are better for you, and additionally the specialist may even prescribe treatments such as chemical peel, microneedling or laser, they too consist of various options depending on the target region. Does Laser face rejuvenation really work?

Hi, I have a lot of pimples on my face and dull skin also a lot of acne marks. I want to perform laser treatment on my face as I have seen on Youtube videos that this treatment solves all these problems. Is it true??

In this treatment a light is made to focus on the upper layers of your skin to break down the tissue containing scars, which simultaneously encourages the growth of newer, healthy looking skin cells that eventually replace the older scarred tissue. Laser treatment can effectively reduce the appearance of acne by itself. But to achieve more drastic results such as acne free skin, it would have to be carried out in combination with other treatments.
There are 3 types of laser techniques based on the scar which is being targeted:
i.) Ablative laser resurfacing device: makes use of an erbium YAG or CO2 laser to remove the entire upper layer of your skin where scarring is present. It can take 3 to 10 days before the redness from ablative laser begins to subside.
ii.) Non-ablative laser resurfacing: This treatment uses infrared lasers, heat of which plays a vital role in stimulating collagen production and encourages growth of newer cells as well, so as to replace damaged, scarred tissue.
iii.) Fractionated laser treatment: The tissue underneath your scar is stimulated using laser, so as to remove cells that are darkly pigmented and situated underneath the topmost layer of your skin. Boxcar and icepick scars can in some cases respond well to this kind of laser.
Typical side effects will be swelling, redness, and pain at the site of treatment. While hyperpigmentation and some skin infection are some of the risks which you may want to be vary of. If you are considered fit for this treatment by the doctor, then in that case you may have to avoid certain kind of supplements, smoking and skin care products containing certain ingredients, for few weeks before this treatment will take place.

How Tattoo removal is done at clinics?

Hi, I want to know about Tattoo removal available in clinics. What's the cost and procedure?

We are aware of 4 clinical treatments to help with regards to aforesaid issue; laser removal, surgical removal, dermabrasion, and creams.
Local anesthesia is injected before proceeding with laser treatment which is spread over 6 to 8 sessions, sometimes more. The pigment colors of tattoos are broken using high intensity light ray.
In surgical removal or excision tattoo removal, your tattooed skin would be cut out and replaced with the bare skin tissues from other organs. It's both effective as well as affordable.
Dermabrasion involves removing layers of your skin to allow ink to ooze out. Efficacy varies, in some cases you are able to get rid of most of the tattoo, while not necessarily in others.
Creams can lighten the tattoo at the but their efficacy is strongly debated against.
You risk getting scarred in all treatments above except for applying creams, and therefore post these treatments you should avoid tight clothes, exposure to sun, and picking on scabs.
The cost varies from 1500-6000 INR per session. We have an updated list of Tattoo Removal doctors in Mumbai, you can refer it or same based on any other city, to get in touch with experts and gain additional information.

Dear ma'am, sun burn is slightly different from sun tan.
If you have sun burn then it will go away on its own and you would be required to visit a doctor only if those burns lead to blisters or become swollen, if you develop a fever or feel excessively hot, if you feel dizzy, sick, or tired, and if you get headache as a result of it or muscle cramps as well. Sun burn is when your skin becomes red and stings as a result of exposure to sun, same signals towards damaged skin.
Sun tan is when your skin becomes dark under the heat of sun but doesn't stings, it's a way of your skin to cope with the UV rays of sun. Tan would require some treatment to go away, there are 4 treatments available, such as laser toning, chemical peel, microdermabrasion, and creams/other products.
Visiting a skin care specialist is always good as they will have a better judgement about the state of your skin and will mostly point to treatments which will give accurate results. If you want you can refer our page - Skin Care doctors in Mumbai, or that of any other city, to get in touch with experts.
