Before undergoing mtf or ftm, the doctor may suggest doing some tests. 

Tests for mtf

• Hormone level testing
• Pelvic exam
• Breast exam
• Prostate cancer screening

Tests for ftm

• Hormone level testing
• Pelvic exam
• Breast exam
• Cervical cancer screening

Other than the tests, the healthcare provider may give certain instructions. For example, if you are planning for a hormone therapy, you may be given instructions on how to take the hormone medications and how to monitor for potential side effects etc. And in case of a surgery also, you may be given certain instructions on the diet you need to follow, and which medications you should take or not take, etc.  

It is important to work closely with your healthcare provider and follow all the guidelines and instructions given by him to have a smooth transition journey. 

It is usually not recommended to get top surgery at 13. One should atleast be 18 years of age to get top surgery. 

Usually, top surgery is suggested when you are 18 or above the age of 18. But you can get top surgery at 16 if you have your parents approval and after consulting with a qualified doctor. 

Yes, transgender women can have sex.

• She might engage in vaginal sex with a woman while still in the pre-op state. 
• If she has recovered from surgery, she might engage in vaginal sex with a man as a woman.

Yes, transgender people can donate blood.

However, there are only two restrictions that need to be followed:

• They must wait three months after having sex with a male or transgender partner.
• Or they can donate if they have sex within the previous three months before

Yes, transgender men can get a period.

• This situation occurs when a man's gender identity conflicts with the physical characteristics of his body. 
• He may have even modified his social role and appearance to reflect his male identity, but if he still possesses his natural female reproductive organs, he will still experience periods.

No, transgender women cannot get a period. 

A trans lady is a transgender person,

• Who has become male to female and
• Women who were designated to be male at birth are considered transgender. 

A trans woman lacks ovaries and a uterus because she was born with masculine gender identity. Trans women do not bleed or menstruate because they do not have uteruses, which shed and flow during menstruation. It is not possible for even those transgender women who have undergone sexual reassignment surgery (vaginoplasty).
