Can lying down relieve kidney stone pain?

Hello, I've been having kidney stones for the past few years. It causes me a lot of stress and panic attacks when I get due to the pain. I'm feeling normal kidney stone symptoms such as lower back pain where I would get the pain for a stone normally and GInsymptoms. However I'm able to stop the pain by lying down which has never happened before, so I'm wondering if it's just normal back pain. Is it possible sometimes to stop the pain by lying down? Thank you
