Managing Morning Hypertension with Split Amlodipine Dosage
Patient's Query
Hi, am Ogah Sunday. Was newly diagnosed of hypertension and was ask to take 10mg of amlodiprine every morning. Now my BP usually drops during the day but gets high up to like 135/103 or 97 when I wake up in the morning. Can I take 5mg in the morning and 5mg at night to see if it will checkment it?

Your morning readings seem elevated, yet not too concerning. Try taking half of your amlodipine pill in the morning and half at night - that could stabilize things. Keep monitoring how you feel, jotting down your numbers. Contact your cardiologist if dizziness, weakness, or chest pain occurs. Stick with nutritious meals, regular activity, and stress relief practices.
