Should I Worry About My Heart After Allergic Reaction?
Patient's Query
2 years ago I had to go to the hospital due to an allergic reaction to medicine. It caused me to have heart palpitations. They did tests and EKG showing my heart is fine. I've been worried since then that something will happen or something is wrong with my heart. I had to go to the Urgent Care today because I'm menopausal and I had a hot flash then my heart rate went up to 98. It scared me thinking something is wrong with my heart. The urgent care doctor did an EKG and said my heart is fine it's anxiety but I'm still scared. Should I be worried about my heart?

It’s understandable to feel anxious after experiencing heart palpitations, especially following an allergic reaction. Hot flashes and increased heart rate can be common during menopause and are often linked to anxiety. Since your EKGs show a healthy heart, it's likely that your heart is functioning well. To manage these concerns, consider stress-relief techniques like deep breathing or gentle exercise. Staying connected with your cardiologist for regular check-ups can also provide reassurance.
