Iam 38 years male and have increased level uric acid 10.7 now previous it was 10.1 on local doctor prescription I have used zyloric tablets for 30 days even though not decreased.i also not a alcohol drinker but iam facing these problems like pain in knee, ankle severe.

Male | 38

Uric acid crystals can be formed in the joints and cause inflammation and pain, particularly in the knee, and ankle joints. Zyloric tablets usually are prescribed to reduce uric acid levels but if they aren't working you may require a different treatment. Follow up with your doctor to find other ways to control your gout and alleviate your symptoms.

Dear Doctor, today my son under went routine blood and urine test. Most of the parameters are normal except RDW-CV which shows 14.3 %. Normal range as shown i the report is 11.6 - 14.0. Is it serious ? What precautions can be take ?

Male | 30

RDW-CV is a measure of the variation in the size of red blood cells. An increase in RDW-CV can be a sign of anemia or nutritional deficiencies. Fatigue, weakness, and paleness may be among the symptoms. To tackle this, ensure a balanced diet that is rich in iron and nutrients. Further assessment by a doctor may be helpful.

My uric acid test report 5.9 please tell me ok not ok

Male | 29

The uric acid level of 5.9 is already above normal. It might remain asymptomatic at first, yet if untreated, it may lead to gout, which is characterized by pain and swelling in the joints. Your uric acid level can be decreased by drinking more water, avoiding alcohol, and less red meat and seafood. Besides this method, exercising regularly may also be beneficial.
