Dr. Vishwanath Gella is a Consultant Clinical & Interventional Pulmonologist with great exposure in the field of Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care. He is one among the very few MD, DM Super specialist Pulmonologists in the AP state from prestigious national institute PGI Chandigarh. He has special interests in interventional bronchoscopy (flexible and rigid), Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS). He is the first and the only pulmonologist in the state of Andhra Pradesh performing Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) for early diagnosis of various chest disorders like Tuberculosis, Lung cancer successfully. His original work on “Rigid Bronchoscopic debulking of central airway tumors” was published in a reputed medical journal “Journal of Bronchology & Interventional Pulmonology”. He has a keen academic interest in “Nosocomial Pneumonia, Ventilator-associated Pneumonia, Pneumonia in immunocompromised patients & Fungal lung infections” and has published in the textbook of Pulmonary medicine by Dr. Sk Jindal and reputed medical journals “Mycoses” and “World Clinics in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine”. He has a special interest in the management of Pleural disorders- Pleural effusion & Pneumothorax (Fluid and air in the chest), Bronchial Asthma, Smoking-related lung diseases like Chronic bronchitis, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD) and has managed more than a thousand of each of these disorders.
