Questions & Answers on "Endocrinology" (421)

I am 36 years old. I have TSH level of 3.6 microIU/mL. What should be the dose of my medicine. Currently I was prescribed with 50mcg.

Female | 36

If your TSH level tests positive with a figure of 3.6 microIU/mL, this is within limits but slightly on the higher side. Higher than normal TSH levels often come with symptoms like fatigue, unexplained weight gain, and feeling cold when others are warm. In case you are experiencing any of these symptoms, alongside the fact that 50mcg is your current dose, it means that you may need to adjust it depending on what your body demands. You must always consult your doctor when there is a need to do so.

I have period 14 day but whyy? This is normal?

Female | 17

Among the most general triggers for continuous bleeding are hormonal changes, tension, or else certain body conditions. Signs of the disease might be weakness or discomfort. Remember to observe the rise of any other signs like heavy bleeding or severe pain. In that case, or if it keeps for a long time, I would consult with the doctor first of all. They will provide various ideas and will decide whether further observation is necessary.

Hi, I am Male 32 years old, I suffer from Hashimoto, and recently did some other blood tests. My total bilirubine level was 2, (direct was 0.2 and indirect 1.8) I have normal ALT, AST, LDH and GGT, also a normal ultrasound( no problems where found on ultrasound). My Cholesterol was also very high (300) and LDL 230. Should I worry about the liver? SHould I start statin for my cholesterol and could my high colesterol be related to hashimotos?. My height is 180 CM and wight for the moment 75 KG. I have been overweight for many years. Max weight wa 90 kg

Male | 32

Your bilirubin is a bit high but your liver enzymes as well as the ultrasound tests are normal which is good news. High cholesterol can go with Hashimoto's - your thyroid problem. Looking at your LDL levels, it might be good to start taking a statin so that you can reduce this kind of cholesterol in your body. It will also help if you work on your weight and try living healthy.

Hi I am 17 years old girl . My height is 5.6 and my weight is 88 kgs . My problem is still I didn’t attend puberty

Female | 17

The reason is that each person achieves puberty at their age. Not developing breasts or getting a period by a certain age are some signs of delayed puberty. The reasons may be different. For example, a person's family history can play a role or some specific medical conditions may be involved. A well-balanced diet, regular exercise, and having a conversation with a nutritionist can be helpful to tackle the issue of delayed puberty.

This could be due to a condition called bradycardia, where the heart beats too slowly. In fact, common causes could include aging, certain medications, or underlying heart issues. To address this, it's essential to consult with a cardiologist for a thorough evaluation. They may recommend tests like an ECG to assess your heart's electrical activity. In the meantime, try to stay hydrated, maintain a healthy diet, and avoid excessive caffeine or alcohol intake.

My Thyroid TSH level is 36.80 I want to confirm the medicine and dosage

Female | 31

A TSH level of 36.80 indicates that your thyroid might be malfunctioning. Among its signs and symptoms are getting tired, gaining weight, and always being cold. The so-called hypothyroidism can also be one of the reasons why. Commonly, doctors tend to prescribe drugs based on thyroid hormones such as levothyroxine. The dosage should be calculated by your doctor for your specific needs.

PCOS ke sath, kuch mahilayen estrogen ya testosterone ki unchi levels se pareshan ho sakti hain, jo kabhi kabhi menstrual cycle ya skin par asar daal sakti hain. Aapki chai, jo half milk aur half water ke saath hai, mainly any significant harm nahi karegi. Mint aur jaggery daalne se bhi koi burayi nahi hai, jab tak sab kuch moderation mein ho. Halankeh, agar aapko serious symptoms milte hain, toh doctor se consult karna achha hoga. Aapka khayal rakhein!
