I m suffering from runny block nose frequently only if I take some medicine it relief temporarily. Pls suggest
Male | 35
This could be due to a few things. Allergies, a sinus infection, or even non-allergic rhinitis could be possible culprits. Taking temporary relief medications suggests it might be related to allergies or inflammation. It's good that you're finding some relief, but it's important to get to the root of the issue. I recommend scheduling a visit with a physician who can assess your symptoms and possibly recommend long-term solutions like allergy testing or prescription medications. It's always best to address these things properly to ensure you're feeling your best.

Hello. In a month I will have a nasal septum surgery (Septoplasty). I would like to know how to prepare for the surgery, what tests to perform, how long the procedure will take, how long the recovery will take after the procedure and whether I should have a new CT scan of the face (the old CT scan of the face is 2 years old). I would also like to get an opinion based on the documentation of the CT scan of the face whether my case is serious? : CT scan of the paranasal sinuses - examination performed without intravenous contrast agent In the posterior ethmoid on the right side, inflammatory thickening of the mucosa up to 7 mm. In the posterior ethmoid on the left side, inflammatory thickening of the mucosa up to 4 mm. In the alveolar recess of the right maxillary sinus, inflammatory thickening of the mucosa of approx. 1 mm In the medial wall of the right maxillary sinus at the level of the middle nasal meatus, a loss of continuity of approx. 2.5 mm - variant The frontal sinuses and the sphenoid sinus on both sides, the maxillary sinus on the left, are normally free of inflammatory thickening of the mucosa. The ostia-ductal complexes are patent on both sides Aeration of the middle nasal turbinate on the left, type II The mucosa of the middle nasal turbinates and the inferior nasal turbinates was significantly thickened on both sides. The bony nasal septum in the upper part is deviated by up to 6 mm to the right, in the lower part it is deviated by up to 4 mm to the left
Male | 28
To get your nasal septum surgery, you need blood tests and maybe a nasal swab. The surgery is expected to last from 1-2 hours. The recovery time may be different, but you might have to keep still for a few days. Your old CT scan is nice, but doing the new one preoperatively is a good idea. Your case is not so serious, however, the surgery will be a positive thing for you in terms of breathing and reduced infections.

A few days ago I experienced severe ear pain and the ear was bleeding. When I went to the doctor, he told me that my eardrum was leaking because I had a cold. After taking some antibiotics the pain subsided. But I still feel the sound in my ears. Also doctor gave x-ray (pns om view). Now the report is "Suggestive of left maxillary sinusitis with right maxillary antral polyp and rhinitis". Now what should we do?
Female | 18
If you still feel sound in your ears and your report shows left maxillary sinusitis with a right maxillary antral polyp and rhinitis, it is important to follow up with an ENT specialist. They can provide you with the best treatment options for your condition.

Hi my name is Rachael and I went to see the doctor and they said that I have an ear infection I'm my right ear I'm already on antibiotics and ear drops i don't remember the brand of the antibiotics I don't know my medications that I take
Female | 31
An ear infection can cause discomfort, including pain, drainage, and sometimes hearing difficulties. Typically, these are due to bacteria or viruses. Since you're already on antibiotics and using ear drops, you're on the right path for recovery. Make sure to complete the full course of your antibiotics even if you start feeling better. Staying hydrated and resting will also aid healing. If symptoms worsen or persist, please reach out to your ENT specialist for further evaluation.

If I have ulcers inside my throat, what should I do and which medicine should I take?
Male | 18
You might have throat ulcers if swallowing or talking causes pain and it feels like there are sores. These ulcers can occur due to infections, acid reflux, or certain medications. Avoiding spicy, acidic foods and drinks is crucial for healing. Gargling with warm salt water can provide relief. Staying hydrated and consuming soft, easy-to-swallow foods aids recovery. However, if the discomfort persists, over-the-counter pain medication may be necessary.

Lump in left side of neck
Female | 20
This might happen if your lymph nodes there become swollen. These are small structures shaped like beans inside your body, which help fight off infection. The bump could be caused by something as simple as a cold or infection; however, sometimes it could mean something more serious. If it hasn’t gone away or is getting larger, see an ENT specialist right away.

CT PNS Findings: - Mucus retention cysts in the left maxillary sinus (14x12mm). No bone erosion. - Mucosal thickening in ethmoid sinuses. Mild DNS (deviated nasal septum) towards the right side. - Cribriform plates of ethmoid and bilateral osteomeatal complexes are normal. - Mastoids are pneumatized. - Orbit and retro-orbital spaces are normal. - No bone lesion seen. Impression: - Left Maxillary sinus mucus retention cysts. - Mild ethmoid sinusitis.
Female | 39
After looking at your CT scan results, it seems like you've got a mucus retention cyst in your left maxillary sinus and some mild inflammation in your ethmoid sinuses. These things can happen when your sinuses get a bit blocked, causing mucus to build up and form cysts. It's quite common, nothing to worry too much about. To help ease the symptoms, you can try using a saline nasal spray to keep things clear. If you're having trouble with congestion or pain, over-the-counter decongestants or pain relievers can be helpful. It might be a good idea to follow up with your orthopedist just to keep an eye on things and see if any further treatment is needed.

Good evening,,i have alot of mucus even while am not sick, which medicine should i use to stop mucus
Female | 22
Dealing with excess mucus without illness feels very bothersome. The mucus might happen due to allergies, irritants, or weather changes. An over-the-counter saline nasal spray helps. It thins mucus, so you clear your nose easier. But read instructions carefully on medication labels.

I am suffering from sinus problem and najal allergy since my childhood
Female | 20
Sinus issues are the usual culprits for stuffy or runny noses, headaches, and pressure around your eyes and nose. Nasal allergies occur when one's immune system reacts even to innocent substances like pollen or dust. The best way to manage this is by avoiding the triggers such as dust, using air filters, and taking allergy medications.

How can I stop snoring at night permanently
Male | 34
Among the leading causes of this are nasal congestion, obesity, alcoholic drinks, and sleeping posture. Should you want to cut down or completely get rid of this, think of lifestyle changes like controlling your weight, sleeping on your side, and not drinking alcohol before bedtime. Besides, using nose strips or humidifiers may help. If none of these strategies give you satisfaction, it would reinforce the importance of professional help to discover the underlying health issues and customized treatments.

Additionally, other symptoms may include sneezing, a runny nose, and difficulty breathing. At your age, polypoidal mucosal thickening in the maxillary sinuses is usually not a sign of cancer. It often indicates chronic sinusitis or nasal polyps. However, because you mentioned bleeding for many years, it's important to consult an ENT specialist for a thorough evaluation and proper treatment.

I have excess ear wax which has hardened like stone.
Female | 27
Built-up ear plug can create an issue of a feeling of being uncomfortable, a reduction in one’s hearing ability, or the illusion of fullness in the ear. Mainly, it is the misuse of cleaning methods and anatomy of the jeopardized narrow ear canals. The other reason might be a skin disorder. To dissolve the wax that has become firm, try mineral oil- or saline solution-based, over-the-counter drops. To prevent earwax from being pushed deeper inside, do not use cotton swabs. If the healing process at home is ineffective or you are in pain when doing it, it is recommended to see a doctor.

Female | 22
A sore throat can lead to a situation when one of your tonsils is larger than the other. Infections such as tonsillitis may be one reason but irritation is also a possible cause. Besides a sore throat, you may also have trouble swallowing, swollen lymph nodes, and a cough. Warm fluids and gargling with salt water are some ways to help. If it still doesn't get better, visit an ENT specialist.

Your throat seems to have a viral germ infection. It makes your throat hurt, get bumpy, and feel stuffy. The illness spreads when people cough or sneeze germs. To feel okay, rest up, drink warm drinks, and use a humidifier. You can buy medicine for pain too. But if it doesn't get better soon, see an ENT specialist.

Your coughs might be from postnasal drip. Mucus flows down your throat from your nose. Allergies, sinus infections, or acid reflux could cause it. Drink lots of fluids. Use a humidifier. Avoid smoke and other irritants. Try decongestants or saline sprays for relief. But if it doesn't improve, see an ENT doctor. They'll examine you and give proper treatment.
