MY QUESTION IS ON BEHALF OF MY MOTHER MY MOTHER HAS SEVERE FIBROMYALGIA SO MY QUESTION IS IT STILL IMPORTANT FOR A PERSON WITH SEVERE FIBROMYALGIA TO GO TO BED TO TRY TO GET TO SLEEP FROM BEFORE 12:00 AM . AND ALSO. IMPORTANT. FOR. THEM. TO START THEIR SLEEP ROUTINE 3 OR 4 HOURS BEFORE 12 AM . SO THAT. THEY CAN HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO TRY TO FALL ASLEEP BEFORE 12 AM. INCASE THEY HAVE ANY TROUBLE STRUGGLING TO TRY TO FALL A SLEEP TO BEGIN WITH AND BY DOING SO BY STARTING . A SLEEP . ROUTINE . THAT WAY .TO BE ABLE TO GET AS MANY HOURS OF SLEEP BEFORE MIDNIGHT 12:00 AM. ALSO BY DOING A SLEEP ROUTINE THAT. WAY FALLING ASLEEP BEFORE 12 AM TO MAKE IT EASIER TO STAY A SLEEP. THROUGH. THE ENTIRE AMOUNT OF HOURS THAT ANY PERSON NEEDS SLEEP FOR , EIGHT HOURS THE AVERAGE AMOUNT OF SLEEP AND. 9 HOURS OR 10 HOURS. OF. SLEEP. DEPENDING ON WHAT THE INDIVIDUAL PERSON NEEDS. FOR SLEEP IS ALSO IMPORTANT. FOR A PERSON WHO HAS. SEVERE FIBROMYALGIA TO START A SLEEP ROUTINE. 3 OR 4 HOURS BEFORE 12 AM . FOR ALL THE REASONS THAT. I HAVE SAID BEFORE BUT ALSO TO HELP WITH DECREASING THE AMOUNT OF PAIN THEY COULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH DURING THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DAY OF. AWAKE HOURS AND TO HELP TO DECREASE THE AMOUNT OF FATIGUE THAT THEY COULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH DURING THE ENTIRE DAY OF AWAKE HOURS. AND TO HELP TO PREVENT FLARE-UPS. THE REASONS I ASKED THIS IS BECAUSE MY MOTHER'S SLEEP ROUTINE HAS BEEN HER GOING TO BED AT 4AM OR 5AM IN THE MORNING FOR YEARS AND GETTING. UP AT 2 PM AND 3PM IN THE. AFTERNOON . SHE STRUGGLES TERRIBLE FOR SLEEP BECAUSE OF THIS , SHE. STRUGGLES. TO. GET TO SLEEP TO BEGIN WITH AND WHEN SHE DOES GET TO SLEEP SHE CAN END UP WAKENING UP. 2 OR 3 THROUGH THE HOURS SHE TRIES TO SLEEP FOR AND IS. UP AND DOWN TO THE TOILET 2 OR. 3 TIMES THROUGHOUT THOSE HOURS. ALSO BECAUSE OF THIS SHE GETS ALMOST SIX HOURS OF SLEEP ON A DAILY EVERY WEEKLY BASIS. AND. WHEN I TRY TO ENCOURAGE HER TO START A SLEEP ROUTINE 3 OR FOUR HOURS BEFORE 12:00 AM . SHE WOULD ALWAYS COME UP WITH AN EXCUSE WHEN I SAY IT'S ALSO IMPORTANT FOR REM SLEEP AND THE RECOVERY. PERIOD AND HER SAYING THERE'S IS NO. POINT PEOPLE WITH SEVERE FIBROMYALGIA. NEVER GO INTO A DEEP SLEEP TO BE ABLE TO GET. REM SLEEP. AND THE RECOVERY PERIOD BY. HER. SAYING. THAT. MAKING IT. SEEM. AS. IF. THERE. NO IMPORTANCE. OF. HER. EVEN TRYING. TO. GET. TO. SLEEP BEFORE. 12AM. AND. START. A. START ROUTINE. 3 OR 4 HOURS. 12AM. FOR ANY. REASONS. AT. ALL. FOR. HERSELF DOCTOR. IF. YOU COULD. GIVE. ME. YOUR THOUGHTS. ON. EACH. PART OF. MY. ENTIRE QUESTION. WRITTEN. ABOVE. ABOUT IS THERE. STILL. ANY IMPORTANCE. FOR ALL. REASONS THAT. HAVE. WRITTEN ABOVE. ON. A IMPORTANCE FOR A. PERSON. WITH. SEVERE FIBROMYALGIA. STARTING. A. SLEEP ROUNTINE. 3. OR. 4. HOURS BEFORE. 12AM. TO. TRY. TO GET. TO. FOR BEFORE. 12AM. PLEASE. INCUSE. THE TYPING. MISTAKES. MY. KEYBOARD. IN BETWEEN WORDS. A daytime sleep schedule not only helps a patient with fibromyalgia to get better but is also of paramount importance to them to avoid sleeping after midnight. Sleep can aggravate or diminish pain, tiredness, and even exacerbations. Adjusting the sleep schedule 3-4 hours before midnight might be a good way to augment sleep quality. Convince your mother to give sleep a priority so that she can not only reduce what she is experiencing but also have better overall health.

I have been diagnosed with IIH. Could I work in a hospital with equipment that use electromagnetic radiation in the future if I get a shunt placement ? Will it affect my shunt valve settings?

Female | 27

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) can cause headaches and vision problems due to increased pressure around the brain. One common treatment is shunt placement, a tube that drains excess fluid. Working with radiation equipment in a hospital is unlikely to affect your shunt, as shunt valves are not impacted by electromagnetic radiation.

Female | 26

Having symptoms like muscle twitches, tingling in your hands and feet, leg weakness, ankle pain, and difficulty speaking could indicate a nerve disorder. Abnormal EMG and NCS test results suggest nerve problems, possibly due to conditions like peripheral neuropathy or nerve injury. It's important to follow up with your doctor for further tests and treatment, which may include specialized tests, medications, or physical therapy, depending on the cause.

This could be due to stress, caffeine, screen use, or an unsteady bedtime schedule. To improve your sleep, you should calm down before sleeping, avoid drinking coffee in the evening, and keep the same sleeping schedule. These simple changes might help you.

I have diagnosed epilepsy, and I currently take 200mg of lamotrigine. I am still experiencing frequent seizures and also cluster seizures. I would like to discuss if I would have any options to add another medication alongside lamotrigine to try and control my seizures.

Female | 26

You’re still having seizures despite taking lamotrigine. It’s a medication commonly used for epilepsy. When seizures continue, adding another medication may help control them. Your doctor may suggest options such as levetiracetam or valproic acid. These medicines work in different ways to prevent seizures. Discuss with your doctor to find the best option for you.

Sir my name is venu gopal and I am 26 years old sir I am sweating only one side of my face and hands what is the reason sir

Male | Kasam venu gopal

Sweating excessively on one side of your face and one hand may be due to Frey’s syndrome, which is a condition that develops as a result of damaged nerves from surgery or injury. The key sign is sweating when you eat or see food. You can try antiperspirants or medication, and if necessary, have botox injections. Don’t forget to drink water and avoid spicy foods too often.

My legs are having weakness. Feel like sleeping a lot. Neck pain due to cervical slso. Don't feel like eating anything

Female | 48

You seem to feel weakened as your legs are not strong. Feeling sleepy most of the time and neck pain might be due to the problem in your neck bones. Not being hungry is also one of the consequences of the issue. Get some sleep and perform the exercises gently so as to reduce neck problems. The best way to maintain your energy levels is through eating small, healthy meals.
