Questions & Answers on "Orthopedic" (1310)
I am dealing with pain, soreness, and stiffness in both my knees mostly in the inside portion after wearing orthotics for a week. I do not have swelling and I think I have full stability. Could I have caused structural damage? Or do I just need a few days of rest now that I removed the orthotics?
Male | 25
Orthotics can affect your knees. Pain, soreness, or stiffness inside your knees without swelling might indicate that orthotics are altering knee movement. It’s unlikely to cause structural damage, but giving your knees a rest can help. If pain persists, consult an orthopedist.

I hurted myself on knees so since 4 hrs it's paining but there is no swelling so should I visit Dr or it will be fine after weeks
Male | 22
Even without swelling, pain can happen due to injury or overuse. Rest your knee, ice it, and elevate it. If the pain doesn't improve in two days, seeing a doctor is wise. Many potential causes exist for knee pain without swelling. Resting, icing, and elevating are good first steps. If the pain persists, seek medical attention.

am a mma fighter and 3 days ago had a kickboxing session, I was holding a kick shield for my dad who weighs 3x more than me. He kicked the kick shield hard but he accidentally missed the kick shield and instead kicked my shoulder, ever since then I have a lot of pain when moving my arms and and especially lifting it outwards I cannot lift it above my head without serious pain, I also feel weak in the same ark and have pain whenever I lift even a light object, I also feel pain in my bicep. Than you
Male | 18
You likely overused your shoulder muscles. Pain, weakness, and the fact your arm does not move well are the possible indications that your muscle has strained and/or torn. This can occur when the muscles are stretched too much. To start the healing process, keep the shoulder in a resting position, apply a cold pack to the affected area, and stay away from activities that worsen the pain. If the pain persists, go to an orthopedist.

A leg disease and it give me pain
Male | 14
You may be having a health problem called arthritis in your leg. Arthritis attacks the joints and causes pain, swelling, and stiffness. It is when the cartilage, which protects the ends of your bones, wears out over time. To relieve the pain, you can learn some gentle movements, use hot and cold therapy, and take over-the-counter painkillers.

I have a wound on my knee. Two days ago i fall in the road
Female | 22
I think you got a scratch on your knee when you fell. It's okay to have pain, redness, and swelling around your wound. This is because the fall has injured your skin. The solution is to gently clean the wound using soap and water, apply an antibiotic ointment, and cover it with an adhesive bandage. Always change the dressing daily until it heals. Opening up is necessary if the pain worsens or you notice any infections with symptoms like pus, light redness, or warmth.

I am 24 years old and male. I hurt my knee in football and now I feel pain on one side.
Male | 24
You may have injured your knee during a football match. Achilles tendinitis or patellar tendinitis are the two most frequent causes of pain in the knee after an injury. Further, you may also have swelling or a problem moving the knee. To alleviate your knee problem, rest your knee, then put some ice on it to let it heal and elevate your leg. If you are still experiencing pain, it is relevant to take a rest from your daily activities and consult an orthopedist or therapist.

i am suffering from bone problem
Male | 29
You may have an issue with your bones. This could stem from lacking calcium or Vitamin D. When bones don't receive enough of those nutrients, they weaken. Pain sets in, making movement difficult. To combat this, consume calcium-rich foods like milk and yogurt. Eat leafy greens high in Vitamin D.

I have a twitch in my middle finger. Right hand.
Female | 27
Finger twitches usually aren't serious issues. They often occur due to fatigue, anxiety, consuming too much caffeine, or lack of sleep. The right middle finger's twitch is annoying but typically harmless. Consider getting more rest, relaxing, reducing coffee intake, and sleeping enough hours. However, if this persists beyond a week, consulting an orthopedic specialist might be advisable.

Dear Sir/Madam,I live in Iran.My mother has fallen to the ground, and hurt her hip. Her pain has reduced a lot since more than 2 weeks ago (January 27th), but she still feels pain. She says it's about 8% of the pain she felt 2 weeks ago. What can we do to reduce her pain? She refuses to go to the doctors. She is 70 years old, has severe osteoporosis, blood pressure, mild cardiac arrhythmia, and acid reflux. Famotidine, Amlodipine, Bisoprolol, Chlorediazepoxide. She used to have Calcium supplements. Never had any treatments for Osteoporosis, not that I remember.
Female | 70
Given her age and existing health conditions, it's important to address her hip discomfort carefully. Encourage gentle movement or physical therapy exercises tailored for osteoporosis to enhance mobility and strength. Additionally, applying heat or cold packs may provide relief. Since she has not received specific treatment for osteoporosis, consider discussing calcium and vitamin D supplements with her if she hasn't been taking them regularly. While I understand her reluctance, an orthopedist can offer targeted advice and ensure there are no serious underlying issues.

i am 25 year old female and have backache for last 2 months. I have used pain relief ointment cream for couple of days but haven't got any relief. What should i do now?
Female | 24
I would advise you to see an orthopedist for your backache. It is also possible that relief cream will not be effective in the future if the root cause of the pain is not treated. Orthopedic specialist will be capable of identifying the cause of your backache and offer suitable treatment options.

Yes. Of course he can go for knee replacement surgery. For this blood thinner has to be stopped 5 days before and should be replaced with some other medicine and after 5 days surgery can be done very successfully. This surgery is very safe and rewarding.

Nerve swelling like bulb in lower leg near tibia
Male | 21
You've got the symptoms of a ganglion cyst. These are small liquid-filled bumps that can evolve near your tibia. Typically this doesn't hurt but sometimes it can be uncomfortable or give a feeling of being under pressure. They oftentimes disappear on their own, however, if you are hurt by it you can attempt to apply ice and rest on your leg. It is important to see an orthopedist to examine it, in case it doesn't improve.
