A radiation oncologist is a medical specialist with a training in the use of radiation therapy to cure or reduce the symptoms of cancer. He/she determines the delivery method and dosage of radiation therapy delivered to the patient. They also work alongside surgical and medical oncologists to determine how radiation oncology fits in the treatment plan.
