Hello I’ve been taking 25 mg atenolol for the last few months for a fast heart rate. I currently have a hemorrhoid and I want to use preparation H to relieve it. Preparation H has 0.25% of phenyleprine in it I know that can raise blood pressure. Should I still take or is there an alternative I can try?

Female | 22

Phenylephrine can raise your blood pressure and it might be unsafe for the heart if one is on atenolol already. In case you have no idea, you can use other treatments for piles that lack this drug like say witch hazel pads alternatively try out nonprescription hydrocortisone creams too. With these substitutes in mind, there won’t be any need to worry about a thing because they will still help soothe them but without affecting or changing anything about how well the medicine works for your heart condition. Nevertheless, should there still be no relief from piles after using these methods then I would advise that you talk with a healthcare professional.

Platelet count noly. 5000

Male | 9

A platelet count of 5000 is very low. Platelets are small UCS in your blood that support the process of transporting blood to your body. When your count is low you could experience symptoms such as easy bleeding, a lot of bruises, or have nosebleeds. Low platelets can be a side effect of several medicines, infections, or diseases. To tackle the problem, doctors may either prescribe medication or transfuse safe platelets.

I had an I pill last month and my blood tests today are High platelet counts Wbc count -7.95 Gran %-76.5 Platelets -141 PDW-SD-19.7 What does this mean

Female | 19

Your blood test shows some changes. A high platelet level might indicate swelling or infection. With a WBC count of 7.95, your body's defense system is active. The Gran% tells about certain white blood cells, which increase when there's an infection. Your platelet count of 141 is normal, but it’s good to keep an eye on it. It seems your body might be fighting off an illness, so it's wise to discuss these results with your doctor for further advice.
