1. Will I receive the necessary medicines for free?
Mostly yes. All of them are part of the hospital pharmacy: fever tablets, BP and blood sugar medications, courses for infections, antenatal vitamins etc. If the doctor prescribes a brand-name medication that is out of stock, it will be necessary to get it from outside sources.
2. What if I go to the emergency at midnight?
Walk in any time. The emergency department is open 24 hours a day. The doctor on duty comes to treat an accident, chest pain, sudden difficulty breathing, deep wounds, snakebite, poisoning, a labour case or anything else. No slip, no queue.
3. Can I deliver my baby at the civil hospital?
Yes, at Civil Hospital Phase 6 and AIMS Mohali, both normal deliveries and C-section are handled. The Janani Suraksha Yojana will be responsible for the delivery and the mother may receive a cash benefit after giving birth. Everything from routine antenatal visits to ultrasound and TT shots is included.
4. What about Ayushman Bharat or Sarbat Sehat card holders?
Treatment is cashless up to ₹5 lakh per family/year if you have an Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) or Punjab Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana card for the above surgeries & admissions. Simply drop off your card and Aadhaar at the registration desk.
5. Is it possible to have vaccines for my baby here?
