Questions & Answers on "Bone Marrow Transplant" (255)

Hi, I did Antibody hiv 1& 2 Elisa test after 30 days of exposure. Then once again I did Insti antibody 1&2 screening tes after 45 days. In both test my result was negative. Should I do further test for my assurance...please kindly suggest me

Male | 39

The tests you took at 30 and 45 days are generally accurate, but for complete peace of mind, it's best to get tested again 3 months after being exposed. This is because it takes time for the immune system to make enough antibodies that can be detected by the test. In the meantime, if you start feeling unwell with symptoms such as fever, rash, sore throat or tiredness, please tell your doctor.

I have vbas and lost too much blood my hb was down to 7.2 and had excessive clots in few days I did blood transfusion and vinofer 3 shots Now my hb is 8.5 and I have notice blood clots today which is 13 days after delivery What is the reason for it and what should I do now ?

Female | 25

It's great that you've received treatment and your hemoglobin is improving. Blood clots postpartum can occur due to a variety of reasons, including changes in hormone levels and blood flow. Monitor the size and frequency of the clots; if they increase or are accompanied by severe pain, dizziness, or heavy bleeding, reach out to your healthcare provider promptly. Ensure you're staying hydrated and following up on your recovery with a doctor who can provide tailored care.

i am a 53 years male person, for last one month i feel swelling in my nech ,can i infected with cancer

Male | 53

A swelling in your neck could come from different causes - not cancer alone. Infections or other issues might make it happen. Cancer wouldn't be the only reason for neck swelling. Along with a lump, fever, cough, and weight loss would occur if it were cancer. It's wise to let a doctor examine you thoroughly and pinpoint the trigger behind the swelling.

I am 40 years old female and here is my blood test report 1. Haematology Report: Haemoglobin (Hb): 9.1 gm/dl (Low) → Indicates anemia (normal range: 12.0 - 15.5 gm/dl). Total WBC Count: 7600 /cmm (Normal) → No signs of infection (normal range: 4000 - 11000 /cmm). Differential Count: All within normal limits. Packed Cell Volume (PCV): 31.3% (Low) → Correlates with anemia (normal range: 40 - 54%). RBC Count: 3.65 million/cmm (Low) → Suggests iron deficiency or chronic disease anemia (normal range: 4.5 - 6.5 mill/cmm). MCV (85.75 fL), MCH (24.9 pg/dl), MCHC (29.1 gm/dl): Slightly low, supporting anemia diagnosis. Platelet Count: 468 × 10³/μl (High) → Could be a reactive response to anemia (normal range: 150 - 450 × 10³/μl). 2. Widal Test (Serology Report): S. Typhi O: 1:80 (Borderline Positive) S. Typhi H: 1:80 (Borderline Positive) S. Paratyphi A & B: No agglutination (Negative)

Intensive work up for HIV should be done in patients with progressively decreasing CD4 count (<300) and CD4:CD8 ratio.

Male | 13

Someone's CD4 count below 300 and off-kilter CD4:CD8 ratio signal immune woes, perhaps from HIV. HIV weakens immunity. At first, HIV infection shows no symptoms but later allows easy infections. Early testing and treatment promote health.
