Questions & Answers on "Cardiac Surgeon" (148)
Hello. I was sitting on the couch on my phone and started feeling a pain and comes and goes on my left arm. After a few minutes I started massaging my shoulder and back and it stopped. 1h after when I was falling asleep it came back and I massaged again and it stopped. Is it something I need to worry about?
Female | 24
Pain on the left arm can be one sign of a heart attack. These signs are more serious if a person has other risk factors, like high blood pressure, smoking, or a family history of heart disease. A cardiologist should be visited for more thorough investigations

Can stress lead to a heart attack or cardiac arrest
Female | 19
If not properly addressed, stress can cause a heart attack or cardiac arrest. For stress, our body dispatches the stress hormones which boost blood pressure as well as heart rate. Such a situation might cause a strain on the heart and elevate the risk of heart attack or cardiac arrest. It is recommend to consult a cardiologist for anything concerning the heart.

I recently switched medications from hctz to chlorthalidone. Should there be a difference typically?
Male | 40
Both HCTZ and chlorthalidone are used to treat high blood pressure and water retention. But chlorthalidone is known to have a longer duration of action and a higher potency compared to HCTZ. It is recommended to consult your cardiologist if you are experiencing any changes in your blood pressure or other symptoms after switching medications.

I am married to my second cousin. During my first pregnancy there were no complications nothing. My daughter was born with normal delivery. She was completely alright and normal baby. Completing her every milestone in time. But at 11 month of the age she got ill and the major symptoms were flu and difficulty in breathing thn she was diagnosed with MYOCARDITIS. And died after 1 week and was under treatment in AFIC (Armed Forces Institute Of Cardiology) Rawalpindi. I was pregnant at that time with my second child. My second daughter was born. She was also completely normal covering every milestone in time. She was treated in al shifa hospital throughout each and every test were clear till the 17 months of age. Thn again once in a while she suffered from same symptoms and diagnosed with MYOCARDITIS. She got treated in Al Shifa hospital Islamabad and expired at the age of 17 months. So now i need some expert advise what to do now. I am not getting any satisfactory answer from any doctor in Pakistan some are claiming it as genetics but some are arguing it can't be this because babies show no defects in any of there milestone throughout their life span. So any thing or any help regarding this is highly appreciated.
Female | 28
Myocarditis is a condition where the heart muscle is inflamed and can be caused by viruses, bacteria, or other infections. It is possible that there is a genetic component to this condition, and I would recommend consulting with a genetic specialist or a pediatric cardiologist. They may be able to provide more information about potential genetic causes and what steps can be taken to prevent it in future pregnancies. It is important to seek medical attention and advice from a experienced healthcare professional.

Left axis deviation and fatigue
Male | 48
In a left axis deviation, the electric impulses from heart are not functioning properly. It can result in the appearance of conditions like fatigue and shortness of breath symptomatically. In case you have such signs, visit a cardiologist for assessment and treatment.
