Questions & Answers on "Cancer" (368)
What are the symptoms one can experience if they have Eye Cancer? Are they noticeable or do they go unnoticed?
Eye cancer does not always cause obvious symptoms and may only be picked up during a routine eye test. Some of the common symptoms of eye cancer are:
- Shadows
- Flashes of light
- Blurred vision
- Dark patch in eye that's getting bigger
- Partial or total loss of vision
- Bulging of 1 eye
- A lump on eyelid or in eye that's increasing in size
- Pain in or around eye, others.
The above mentioned symptoms can also be caused by more minor eye conditions, so they're not necessarily a sign of cancer. Consult an ophthalmologist. Hope our answer helps you.

My masi had whipple surgery in Feb 2021. Since November she has been feeling pain, bloating stomach and cramps but initially she ignored it as it is very common in people. But recently it became severe and so I consulted our doctor. Few reports are yet to come but doctor is thinking there might be peritoneal carcinomas to her stomach lining. That can lead to the early stage of Peritoneal cancer. Can you please show some light on this? We are extremely confused
Yes post Whipple surgery pain and discomfort for limited time period is a common complain. A thorough examination and investigations are mandatory if we are suspecting any progression of disease. There are specific Cancer markers which can help us diagnose the condition. Peritoneal Carcinoma has to be ruled out as soon as possible. Exact comment on treatment planning can only be done once all the investigations are done. So be in touch with your surgical oncologist and for any help.

Diagnosed with well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma (left submandibular area) Site: Alveolus
Hello Sachin, Treatment for oral cancer (mouth cancer) or any other cancer normally depends on the type, location, and stage of the cancer, age of patient and patient's general condition when diagnosed.
Oral cancer treatment includes:
- surgery in early stages,
- Radiation therapy,
- Chemotherapy.
- Treatment for advanced stages will usually involve a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
- Targeted therapy can be effective in both early and advanced stages of cancer.
In your case, depending of stage of cancer or if it is recurring, the clinician will decide about the line of treatment. Very important is nutrition of patient as eating will be a concern during and after treatment for some time. Hygiene of mouth is also very important and not to be missed. In case of advanced oral cancer, the patient may need reconstructive surgery and some rehabilitation to assist with eating and speaking during recovery. Speech therapist, nutritionist will be needed. Kindly consult an oncologist for evaluation.

My mother is 52 Years old house wife and she's survive in chest Cancer past 3 years and didn't well Dr do treatment but feeling getting bad
Female | 52
Cancer is tough, but there's hope. Please let the doctor know if she feels worse even after treatment. Some symptoms such as coughing, pain, or feeling weak are of multiple possibilities. The doctor possibly has to ascertain if the cancer has recurred or if there is another problem. Waiting is not a good choice especially when you tell them how your mother is doing.

This type of cancer often leads to irregular bleeding and discomfort in the pelvic region. Following surgery, chemotherapy or radiation may eliminate lingering cancer cells. Namaste, My father lives in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and is in terminal stage of cancer. It started as oral cancer which was removed surgically but unfortunately has metastasized to his lungs and now his liver. He took 6 rounds of chemotherapy, but it spread anyway. He is at end of life now and we are desperately looking for Ayurveda treatment or options that can ease this situation.
Male | 65
Metastasis means the cancer has spread to other body areas. The terminal stage signals the disease's progression. Pain, weakness, and no appetite are symptoms. Ayurveda uses herbs and healthy practices to ease discomfort and lift life quality. But consult an expert to plan the ideal ayurvedic treatment approach for your dad's specific case.

I think i have skin cancer but i don’t know how to tell
Female | 14
If you suspect skin cancer, consult a dermatologist. Monitor any changes in moles or spots using the ABCDE rule. Take photos for documentation and avoid self diagnosis. A dermatologist can perform a thorough examination and potentially conduct a biopsy if necessary. Early detection is key for successful treatment.

I had pain in my armpit without lumps and even body aches, fatigue, bloating, reduced appetite and breathlessness occasionally. So I consulted general physician, he checked but no lumps found and he said due to panic regarding this lump I was getting all symptoms. But he suggested for thyroid and usg whole abdomen. Yesterday the reports came in which stated only cysts were found and nothing serious. But two days ago I observed a small pea size lump on my neck and stinging pain radiating in my body and hoarness. And yesterday I observed a swollen abdomen with pain What should I do. I fear it's cancer. I observed all this within a week of time
Female | 23
It’s good that you consulted a general physician and got tests done. Since you’ve now noticed a lump in your neck, hoarseness, and other symptoms like body pain and abdominal swelling, I recommend visiting an endocrinologist or oncologist. They are specialists in thyroid and other conditions that might need further examination. It’s important not to jump to conclusions but to get proper advice from a specialist for peace of mind and accurate diagnosis.

Treatment for stomach cancer includes surgery to remove tumors, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, targeted therapy, and potentially immunotherapy. The specific treatment plan depends on factors like the cancer's stage and the patient's overall health.
Palliative care is used to manage symptoms, and experimental treatments are done. The choice of treatment will be determined by your oncologist team, consulting with the patient.
