Questions & Answers on "Dignostic Tests" (76)

I am a 29 year old male. Recently I started a relationship with my girlfriend who is from a different country. She wanted me to get tested for AIDS before we had sexual contact but I informed her that I was a current blood donor and I have recently donated within the last 2 weeks even. I have not been differed or blocked from donating due too having AIDS, nor have I had sexual contact with anyone that has that. So in this situation does it make sense for me to go and spend money to get tested? Also note, there are no symptoms of the above mentioned aliment.

Male | 29

Even recent blood donations don't negate the need for specific checks. AIDS, an Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, often lacks initial symptoms. Testing reveals any presence with certainty. Undergoing this process demonstrates responsibility, safeguarding your well-being and your partner's.

I have uploaded CBC report Can u check

Female | 34

This test helps assess your overall health and identify any irregularities in blood components. Symptoms like fatigue, weakness, or unusual bruising may indicate underlying conditions. Causes can vary from nutritional deficiencies to infections. I encourage you to maintain a balanced diet rich in iron and vitamins, stay hydrated, and manage stress. However, discussing your results with a healthcare professional is essential for personalized advice and appropriate follow-up. They can provide tailored recommendations based on your unique situation, ensuring you receive the best care possible.

It looks like there is a possibility that your message was misunderstood. In case you suffer from weird symptoms such as tiredness, pain, or discomfort that seems not normal, it may be due to stress, an unbalanced diet, or even infections. It's crucial to follow your body's signals and notice any changes. Therapy through lifestyle changes such as drinking enough water, eating a balanced diet, and doing some relaxation exercises can help you, rather easily. Nonetheless, if the symptoms persist or are worrying, I advise you to make a doctor's appointment and get a complete check-up.

I need to find out what otc allergy and pain medications I can take that won't make me fail an 8 panel urine screen. I'm going through an unfortunate situation and have to test twice a week. Thank you for your time.

Male | 44

Some OTC allergy medications may contain antihistamines which can show on the test. Pain meds like ibuprofen or acetaminophen are safe in general. Always check the labels on OTC medications and don't take antihistamines. Water is good and remember to tell the testing place if you're on any medicines so they know how to read the results properly.

Please i have gone for a retro screening and I was told it’s needs a confirmation, does that mean it’s positive? And I was told the result will be ready after 2 weeks. Please what does that mean?

Female | 26

Sometimes, needing a retro screening isn't serious. However, a diagnosis requires testing first, so don't stress. Waiting for test results takes time to ensure accuracy. Retro infection symptoms differ but often mimic flu symptoms. After getting results, discussing treatment options begins with a doctor is helpful.

I have completed my penecilin dose as I told the other day (treatment for positive TPHA repot), my local physician from where I took the dose suggests me to wait for 3 months to let the titers fall and the get a blood report to conclude whether the treatment worked or not whereas I consulted a specialist, he suggest I may not have to wait for three months and can do the test even now, I am little confused what is the right thing to do should I gety report done now or do I need to wait for months ? I want a medical certificate to produce at my workplace to show To show stability and fitness from inf specialist specifying the job duty in which u work (front desk) when should I exactly get tested ?

Male | 25

Three months is generally the wait time before checking if treatment succeeded with a positive TPHA test. But, your doctor's advice takes priority. Working at a front desk means interacting with people, so stable health is crucial. Getting a blood test now would help clarify things.

It’s getting bloodwork for herpes after 12 days too soon

Male | 30

Getting blood work for herpes can be tricky. It might take some time for the virus to show in your blood test results. That is why you should wait a few weeks before testing for herpes. Painful sores, itching, and flu-like symptoms can be signs of herpes. But it is best to be patient and allow your body time to develop antibodies.

Female | 30

The wrong age sometimes leads to wrong test results. The quadruple test checks certain substances in a pregnant woman's blood, and one of the factors that count is age. If the ultrasound report is fine and everything looks normal, it is good. Inform your doctor about any errors to ensure that they have the right information.
