Having an alkaline phosphate level of 248 is a little high. It may be that your liver or bones are not ok. If you have symptoms such as tiredness, stomach ache, and yellowness of the skin, make sure you seek medical help immediately. A healthcare professional will be able to help establish what is causing this and also advise on the right treatment for you.

I am coughing up blood Do I have Cancer?

Female | 21

Coughing up blood can be alarming, but it’s not always due to something serious like cancer. Common causes include lung infections, bronchitis, or excessive coughing. If you notice blood in your spit, it’s best to inform your doctor to help identify the cause. They may run some tests to find the underlying issue. See a doctor to make sure everything is okay.

i am 29 years old , recently i took blood test in that my esr level is 50 , is it bad?

Female | 29

An ESR reading of 50 might mean there is some kind of inflammation in the body. Possible infections, autoimmune diseases, or even a few cancers can be the cause of this. Typical symptoms of inflammation include fever, fatigue, and aching of the body. To handle this, it is necessary to identify the main reason by doing other tests and talking to a doctor.

I went to general check and blood test. I got CEA test level 8.16 I don't smoke or drink. Reason for it. Is it normal

Male | 55

CEA stands for Carcinoembryonic Antigen, a protein produced in the body, and the levels of it in the body may be high because of different causes such as inflammation or infection. Usual symptoms are unusual with a slight increase in CEA levels, but further tests and monitoring are also often necessary. It’s important to visit your healthcare provider to find out the exact reasons for your condition and the best ways to fight it.

If hb is11.28 Iron21 Tibc 533 Transferrin saturation 4% Is it severe ida

Female | 19

Your hemoglobin is 11.28, iron is 21, TIBC is 533, and transferrin saturation is 4%. These results do suggest a low iron level, which could indicate iron deficiency anemia. This means your body doesn't have enough iron to make sufficient red blood cells, affecting oxygen transport. It's essential to address this to prevent symptoms like fatigue and weakness. I'd recommend increasing iron-rich foods like spinach, red meat, and lentils in your diet. Additionally, your doctor may suggest iron supplements. Regular follow-ups will help monitor your levels and adjust treatment if needed.

How to know effect hiv in starting months

Male | 22

During the initial stages of HIV, some individuals might not display any symptoms at all while others may have flu-like symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and body aches. This happens because the virus has already started to weaken their immune system. It is important to test if you suspect that you might have been exposed to HIV. Early treatment onset after diagnosis is necessary for effective management of the virus.

Systematic increases in immature granulocytes Good morning, Firstly, I will mention that I suffer from numerous chronic inflammatory diseases, as this may be relevant. These include Ulcerative Proctitis; Atrophic Gastritis; Last year, I also underwent two cervical electrosurgery procedures due to advanced dysplasia (CIN3). (The last colposcopy and colonoscopy did not reveal any suspicious changes) For a year now, my blood morphology tests have been showing an elevated level of immature granulocytes: The latest test (May '24) showed: Immature granulocytes IG - 0.09 thousand/µl; Norm: 0-0.04 thousand/µl Immature granulocytes IG % - 1.00; Norm: 0-0.5% The rest of the blood morphology is normal, leukocytes in urine - within the norm. Previous results (April '23): Immature granulocytes IG - 0.05 thousand/µl; Norm: 0-0.04 thousand/µl Immature granulocytes IG % - 0.7; Norm: 0-0.5% (and a very slightly elevated MCV) Even older (January '23): Immature granulocytes IG - 0.04 thousand/µl; Norm: 0-0.04 thousand/µl Immature granulocytes IG % - 0.6; Norm: 0-0.5% (and a very slightly elevated MCV and basophils) There is a clear upward trend since last year. I initially thought this was due to extreme stress (CIN3, LLETZ etc). Now I am not so sure... Are these results very concerning and indicative of a cancerous process? Can chronic inflammatory states cause an increase in IG, or is it rather some kind of “acute” disease state? Could the fact that I rode a bike to the laboratory (medium and short-term physical effort) affect the increase in results? I would be very grateful for your response and advice. Best regards, J.

Female | 40

Raised levels of these are often linked to chronic inflammation similar to stress, in this case, it is important to control them initially. With the status of attempted diagnosis for specific inflammatory conditions, your previous experience, and the new procedures on the lookout for anything new, don't hesitate to let a doctor know. It would be helpful to get solid advice from your healthcare provider concerning your test results.

Female | 24

The injection of rituximab that you are receiving is the main medicine for your treatment. Since you have already had your first injection and dialysis, it is now time for the second shot. This injection acts on your disease by targeting some cells that might be at fault. Follow your doctor's orders in the letter. If you have any worries or see new symptoms, don't be afraid to contact your doctor.

Male | 10

Based on the CBC report for your son, it reads that his red blood cell count is elevated. Sometimes, this leads to headaches. The other test results yield normal values, which is a positive thing! In my opinion, a doctor's consultation is necessary to delve more into the issue of an elevated RBC count and the occasional headaches, ensuring that the child receives proper treatment.

Few subcentimetric lymph nodes are noted in left axillary region

Female | 45

When the small lymph nodes which are like little bumps show up in the armpit, they could be caused by infections such as a common cold or a cut on your arm. The nodes are part of your body's immune system and help to defend against viruses and bacteria. If the nodes are swelling or you have any discomfort, it would be a wise decision to see a doctor. They can provide suggestions for strengthening your body's resistance.

Hello doctor I have a very challenging question here for you to help me with. Do you have to extend the duration of PEP for HIV prophylaxis to more days if the patient got another exposure on the 6th day while taking the regular 28 days dosage regimen. He had so far reached the 6th day of taking his PEP and got anothet exposure. So should we add more 6 days on top of the remaining 22 days. Thanks Laurence

Male | 26

If a person on HIV PEP experiences another exposure to the virus on the sixth day of treatment, it is of the utmost importance to consult a doctor. They will consider the situation at hand very carefully and consequently decide this case. Quite sometimes, they might find it adequate to prolong the treatment duration according to personal circumstances for optimal safety. Never forget that open and honest communication with your healthcare team is the crucial component of the best possible care.

So my friend has her blood test done recently as she was having low fever, cough, shivers and vomitings. The report showed that she has 57.03 U/dl of CRP after the medication as well it continued to increase to 74.03 CRP although the symptoms such as fever, cough, shivers and vomitings have reduced just wanted to know if such levels of CRP are severe and life threatening or not cause we are worried

Female | 19

A high level of C-reactive protein (CRP) in the blood, even after medication, can be a sign of persistent inflammation or infection in the body. If not treated, this could become a danger. The good news, the symptoms have improved, but the increasing levels of CRP are a reason for concern, as they indicate that the problem needs to be investigated further by a doctor to determine the underlying cause and ensure appropriate treatment.
