Questions & Answers on "Pediatrics And Pediatric Surgery" (587)
I am a mother to a 4yrs old boy He has a swollen neck under his ear with high fever that doesn't go away after taking ovc antibiotics,, please what should I do
Male | 4years
It seems that your son might have an inflammation which is probably related to the lymph nodes or salivary glands and that can make the body part transfer and the temperature of another part rise. Viral infections, bacterial infections, or dental problems are all common reasons. Due to the fact that the antibiotics you got from the drug store have not worked, it’s important to take him to the pediatrician. Who can diagnose and suggest the needful tests or treatments for him.

Sometimes, this could be due to delayed maturation of the bladder control mechanism. Since you mentioned that there are no underlying medical or academic issues, it's likely just a matter of time before your son's bladder catches up. In the meantime, it might be helpful to limit fluids a couple of hours before bedtime and encourage him to use the bathroom right before sleeping. Using a bedwetting alarm or medication like desmopressin can also be considered after consulting with your pediatrician.

"I would like to ask a pediatrician about my 3-year-old daughter, Sela. She has been experiencing gum issues for almost a month, with one gum coming in every two days. Is this dangerous? Additionally, she sometimes holds her stomach, but she doesn’t have any other symptoms. What should I do?"
Female | 3
It's quite common for young children to experience gum discomfort as their teeth emerge. This can cause tenderness and minor irritation. While the occasional holding of her stomach may indicate mild discomfort, without other symptoms, it may not be alarming. Ensure she is maintaining good oral hygiene and consider offering soft foods to help ease any discomfort. If her symptoms persist, or if you notice any unusual changes, it would be wise to consult your pediatrician for a thorough evaluation and reassurance. Professional guidance is key to ensuring her health and comfort.

My daughter by name Bhuvi is 1year 10months old.She drinks only Cow’s milk. She doesn’t eat anything. She drinks around 1litre of milk every day and this has become her Main food.To make her eat food i used to give her variety of foods and give milk only two times during night for 12days.She used to eat very little and drink milk whatever I gave. But she became very weak and lost some weight. She had less energy. There was no improvement in eating food so what should I do now?
Female | 2
Weakness and weight loss in her mean that she is not doing well. Such a restricted diet has caused her to be deficient in necessary nutrients. You could support her in eating by simply making each meal more exciting for her through the introduction of bright, small, and delicious foods. If the issue persists, visiting a pediatrician would be beneficial for further evaluation and guidance.

Hi , I just found out that my daughter has swelling on her right side of head, is it normal? She's been born on 7 dec 9 days ago, she came to the world by normal delivery. Her swelling is soft and not painful when touching, its size is almost 1 inch approx , her feeding is good, and she doesn't have any coughing or fever . She has jaundice with yellow eyes. I am so worried let me know please.
Female | 9 days
The swelling, in newborns, can sometimes be normal, particularly when it is not very thick and does not cause any discomfort. This could be because the baby is not lying in the best position or that they have a small fluid collection. On the other hand, jaundice is very common in babies, which means that babies should be observed all the time. I suggest you discuss the matter with your child's pediatrician and get a full examination to exclude any possible health concerns and get specialized advice.

What can I give a girl having high temperature
Female | 5
Fevers are the body's reaction to fighting off germs. Drink lots of water. Take acetaminophen for the fever. If the fever persists for more than 3 days, visit a doctor. That's important because high fevers can be worrisome. A mild fever under 102 Fahrenheit is okay and common for kids during minor illnesses. But anything over 103 Fahrenheit means getting medical attention. Keeping fluids up and medication helps kids feel better during fevers.

When we ask him to tell the word again, he will try but some time having difficulties and he stop saying and other time he tried and some how he is saying with wrong word like he will say mammy to ammy and bappi to appi, Not sure of the reason for this sudden change. Any advice will be helpful. Thank you.

The reasons may be varied. sometimes some parts of the brain can be affected as a result of shuttle ischemic attack (which is not uncommon in children) or maybe due to some metabolic cause that is affecting speech related to the brain. MRI BRAIN WITH MRI Spectroscopy should be done along with detailed physical &neurological examination of the child. Also, look for any worsening of other developmental domains for example difficulties in standing or in gripping something. You can also consult the Pediatricians for further information.

Is small pimple in 3 weeks babyborn are normal
Female | 3 weeks
It's quite common for newborns to develop small bumps or spots on their skin, often referred to as baby acne. This typically occurs due to hormonal changes from the mother and usually resolves on its own within a few weeks. These spots may appear red or pimply but are generally harmless and don't cause discomfort. To care for your baby's skin, gently cleanse the area with mild soap and avoid applying any creams unless advised by a healthcare professional. If you notice unusual symptoms or if the condition persists, I recommend consulting your pediatrician for personalized advice and reassurance.

Mera 4 year ka beta he or uska penis born time se itna hi he koi changing nahi he kiya kare
Male | 4 year
In young children, it's not uncommon for the penis to appear relatively unchanged in size. During early childhood, the penis may not grow significantly until closer to puberty. However, if you notice any redness, swelling, or difficulty urinating, it's essential to consult a pediatrician. In the meantime, ensure your son stays hydrated and practices good hygiene. If you have any worries, don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor for further evaluation and guidance.

Male | 0
In children, any fever above 100 degrees Fahrenheit should be investigated. It might mean there’s an infection present. It’s important to go through the blood test report for any indications of an infection. The most likely causes are respiratory or urinary tract infections. After you get the results, make sure you book another appointment with a pediatrician so that they can recommend the right treatment.

My 9 year old daughter has been waking up with some of part of her body swollen up like lips and hands but they're not painful. It's just that the hands don't full bend because they are swollen what could be the possible cause
Female | 9
Swollen lips and hands in a child can be concerning but not always serious. It could be due to allergies, like a reaction to food, insect bites, or even a skin condition like eczema. Sometimes, it may be linked to fluid retention or even an underlying medical condition. To be sure, it's best to have your daughter evaluated by a pediatrician. In the meantime, you can try some home remedies like cool compresses and keeping her hands elevated. Make a note of any foods she's eaten or any new products she's used.

A child of 2 and half years old is suffering with fever from last night we tried tylenol but fever is not lowering what to do next
Male | 2
When your child has a fever, it can cause worry. But staying calm is key. Most fevers in kids happen due to infections. If Tylenol fails to reduce the fever, give a lukewarm bath and drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated. Dress them in light, comfortable clothes. However, if the fever persists, you should contact a pediatrician.

Hello sir mera baby 3.6 year ka hai or usko typhoid hua hai To typhoid ke injection se usko nind or susti aati hai Or body temperature h 93.4 To kya ye normal h Es injection ko de ya nhi
Male | 3.6
Typhoid can cause fatigue and fever, and it's not uncommon for some children to feel lethargic after vaccinations. A body temperature of 93.4°F is quite low; normal ranges typically start around 97°F. It’s important to monitor your child closely. If the symptoms persist or worsen, I strongly recommend consulting a pediatrician. They can provide the best advice tailored to your child's needs. Keeping your little one hydrated and comfortable is also important during this time.
