As soon as we received the results of the tests, we shared a treatment plan with the patient. Akin was ready to go to Turkey for treatment. We suggested to them the Memorial Şişli Hospital, Istanbul.
We discussed Akin’s case with our General Surgery specialist Prof. Halil COŞKUN from Memorial Şişli Hospital. Our specialist informed us that we would most probably plan Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy.
He needed urgent treatment but faced issues with his VIL (Visa Invitation Letter). So it took around a month to get him a visa.

The doctor suggested that we will probably plan Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy as the patient is suffering from obesity. Akin came down to Istanbul and got his surgery done.
After the operation, he was hospitalized for 3 nights, and following the discharge date, he stayed in Istanbul for 7 more days for a follow-up examination.
Due to this gastrectomy, it was easier to resolve the problems Akin was facing with his liver.
He stayed in the hospital for about two weeks and then returned to Nigeria. He was relieved and happy about his treatment.
