weight loss for fertility

Your wife's weight loss course will commence with dieting, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.
And in the event that they don't return desired results, only then she will be granted some medical or surgical treatment, but that would be parallel to her ongoing efforts pertaining to her diet, exercise, and lifestyle changes.

  • To move on to prescription based remedies, she would be required to meet one of the following criteria:
    1. Her body mass index (BMI) is equivalent of or greater than 30
    2. Her BMI is greater than 27, and additionally, she has medical complications linked with obesity, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or sleep apnea

  • Before prescribing any medical remedy, the doctor will assess her on the basis of her health history, as well as possible side effects which could likely occur based on whatever symptoms she's showing.
Weight loss medicine licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) include the following, but she will have to be monitored & permitted by her doctor as well:
    1. Orlistat (Alli, Xenical)
    2. Phentermine and topiramate (Qsymia)
    3. Bupropion and naltrexone (Contrave)
    4. Liraglutide (Saxenda, Victoza)

When she will stop taking her prescription medication, she might observe that she has regained more or all of her weight. And there could be side effects & risks as well, so keep the doctor updated on a routine basis.

  • Endoscopic surgeries: less invasive surgical procedures concerned with limiting her overall intake of food, we have given some gist below, just for your reference:
    1. Planting stitches inside her stomach so as to reduce its size and the amount of food which she can consume.
    2. Or inserting a small balloon within her stomach, which is then filled with water to limit the space available. This helps you feel fuller quicker.

  • Bariatric surgeries: These are surgical methods that have the same function as our endoscopic surgeries, but with more invasive procedures.
    1. She will qualify for them if earlier methods failed, but for this she would also have to be extremely obese (BMI of 40 or greater), and if her BMI happens to be between 35 to 39.9, then her serious weight-related problems will be taken into consideration as well.
    2. Following are the procedures which she can be counted for: gastric by-pass, adjustable gastric banding, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, and gastric sleeve.

  • Vagal nerve blockade:
    1. It involves implanting a device under the skin of the abdomen, which transmits intermittent electrical pulses to the abdominal vagus nerve, same helps in communicating to the brain when the stomach is empty or full.
    2. Adult individuals who have not been able to lose weight and who have a BMI of 35 to 45, coupled with some obesity-related disease, are also eligible.

  • Proceeding to weight loss treatment cost, the surgical procedures will cost anywhere between Rs. 2,25,000 to Rs. 7,00,000. Whereas dieting-related consultation can vary from rs. 1,200 to rs. 20,000.

For more information regarding obesity, you can visit experts and use our page to find them: Dietitian/Nutritionists in Bangalore, she will start out with these specialists but as she advances to further stages owing to her complications, she will be referred to other doctors as well. Let us know if you reside in a different city, to recieve better recommendations.

treatment for high bilirubin levels

Based on the complaints and elevated bilirubin levels you seem to be suffering from a type of liver disorder, a condition wherein excess accumulation of bilirubin (a brown yellow coloured compound formed in breaking down of red blood cells) occurs. With loss of appetite, vomiting, stomach tightness and bloating; fever, extreme fatigue and abdominal pain can also be seen in liver diseases.

• There are multiple causes for development of liver dysfunction such as infection, autoimmune liver diseases like cholangitis, Wilson’s disease, cancer, alcoholic liver (due to alcohol abuse) and non-alcoholic (due to excessive consumption of fats) and drug induced.

• When using a medicine that is known to have the potential to cause liver damage, your doctor may recommend you to have blood tests done on a routine basis after starting the medication so that any signs of liver damage may be recognised before symptoms develop.

• Common medications that can cause damage to the liver include Paracetamol, Statins – drugs for lowering cholesterol levels and certain herbs.

• Other liver function parameters such as AST(aspartate aminotransferase), ALT(alanine transaminase), ALP(alkaline phosphatase) and GGT(gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase) bilirubin are required to be evaluated and additional to this for determining the exact cause of dysfunction especially to confirm presence of jaundice; urinalysis, CT (for distinguishing between biliary obstruction and liver disease including cancer) and liver biopsy (for ruling out concern about possible liver cancer) needs to performed.

• The treatment is based on the underlying cause and damage levels and can range from dietary changes, medications such as antibiotics, sedatives, etc to liver transplants.

• Consult hepatologist near you for further assessment and treatment.

Hi sir I'm from Aurangabad sir I have a hypertrophic scar in my hands I have do laser CO2 fractional laser in this scar bt no improvement please tell me treatment for this scar

Hypertrophic scars are bumpy in nature due to excess scar tissue production and abnormal wound healing post any injury or cut. The choice of treatment would be intralesional Triamcinolone acetonide injections into the scar at 3-4weekly intervals. This may be helpful in reducing the bumpiness of the scar. It is done by a dermatologist. Concentration of the injection is decided by the Dermatologist depending on the how tough the scar is. For Consultation please visit dermatologist near you.

I am 21 years old and I have got dark inner thigh and buttocks. I have tried various creams and home remedies but didn’t work . How much will it cost approx to treat my inner thigh with laser or chemical peels?

Laser skin lightening treatment should cost Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 per session, however, we are not sure how much it would cost for inner thighs and buttocks specifically, and our mentioned range is just a rough estimate.

Chemical Peel treatment should cost between Rs. 1,000 to rs. 10,000 per session, depending on solution concentrate, its strength and severity of your condition, but again, this is a rough estimate and we don't know how much a specific part of body will cost.

What's the treatment for keratoconus

Treatment for keratoconus depends upon the severity of your ailment and its progression. Usually, two approaches are deployed to handle keratoconus: slowing down the progression and increasing your vision.

If your keratoconus is mild or moderate, then depending on the extent of distortion and blurriness you experience, only lenses will be enough for managing your ailment:

  • Hard contact lenses: Lenses that are rigid and don't change shape, they can accommodate your cornea.
  • Soft contact lenses: Lenses that adjust according to your cornea in early stages.
  • Hybrid contact lenses: Lenses with rigid center and soft outter rings.
  • Piggyback lenses: hard lenses on top of soft, if rigid ones are too uncomfortable but if the shape of your cornea is progressively changing.
  • Scleral lenses: unlike other lenses, they rest on the white part, so they spread over cornea without even touching it.

You can also go for corneal collagen cross-linking therapy, if your condition is progressively getting worse, and after that continue to wear lenses so as to manage this disease.

It prevents further change in corneal shape by saturating cornea with riboflavin eyedrops and treating it with ultraviolet light.

If your condition has become extreme, then cornea transplant surgery will be the final resort.

It can result in complications such as graft rejection, degenerated vision, infection and astigmatism. Astigmatism can be managed by wearing hard contact lenses however.
