I want to know about Triple-negative breast cancer as our doctor hinted that my aunt has signs of this specific type of breast cancer.

The term triple-negative breast cancer means that the cancer cells do not have estrogen or progesterone receptors and does not make too much of the protein called HER2. ( therefore the cells test "negative" on all 3 tests.)

Triple-negative breast cancer has less treatment options available than other types of invasive breast cancer. The reason being the cancer cells do not have enough estrogen or progesterone receptors or HER2 protein for hormone therapy or targeted drugs to work.

Treatment options are chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery mainly. But consulting clinician on time and starting the treatment is important. Regular follow up with doctor with lifestyle modifications and counselling will help. Consult an oncologist.

Hope our answer helps you.

Hello, my father has detected with PT2B adenocarcinoma in Gall bladder cancer. He has undergone radical cholecystectomy. The biopsy report shows microscopic adenocarcinoma in lever with margin of resection lever as negative and lymph node negative. Is chemotherapy needed post surgery?

Hello, Chemotherapy is usually given after the surgery, to reduce the chances of recurring cancer. In some cases, chemo is given before the surgery to shrink the tumour; it is called neoadjuvant therapy. As you have mentioned that your father has undergone radical cholecystectomy, and you want to know if chemo is needed after the surgery. Our recommendations would be to undergo adjuvant chemotherapy. As it is suggested by various studies that, Post-operation chemotherapy is used as palliative care treatment for gallbladder cancer, as it inhibits the growth of any cancer cells remaining in the body after the removal of the tumour. Even though there are various side effects associated with receiving chemotherapy, one can increase their survival chances and diminish any chances of recurrent cancer. Hope this answer helps you. Hello, I have Pancreatic Cancer and it has started spreading to the liver. Which treatment will be able to increase my survival rate?

As per my understanding the patient is suffering from pancreatic cancer and now it has metastasized to liver and you want to know about the treatment. It seems the patient id suffering from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Any cancer stage 4 does not have a good prognosis.

Treatment of cancer to a great extent depends on type of cancer, stage of Cancer, location of the cancer, general condition of patient, associated comorbidities and weighing benefits over risk. So considering these factors doctor will advise the treatment. Consult oncologists. Hope our answer helps you.

Hi, my brother is suffering from stage II prostate cancer. Kindly suggest me line of treatment and the best Oncologists in Mumbai for the same

Stage II cancer means cancer has not yet spread outside of prostrate but is large. Treatment depends on age of patient, his general condition mainly. Radical prostatectomy is done and if during surgery it is found that cancer has spread or if few months after surgery PSA has increased, then external beam radiation is considered. Either solely external beam radiation, or brachytherapy, or both are considered depending on patient's condition and cancer stage. If patient has serious health issues then radiation therapy with brachytherapy is planned. Regular follow up with clinician is very important. Please consult an oncologist - Oncologists in Mumbai. Hope our answer helps you.

Hello, I am experiencing some symptoms of Prostate Cancer. Is there any way to check if you have prostate cancer or not without visiting a hospital?

Consulting a clinician and getting thoroughly evaluated is the right way to get yourself diagnosed and treated. Just searching, reading and trying to match your symptoms to a particular disease will lead to unnecessary stress, anxiety and delay in treatment. So please get examined by Urology Consultation doctors in Mumbai, or any city of convenience, and if some pathology is detected then get treated.
