Questions & Answers on "Gynaecology" (5303)

Hello! I just had a question cause I can't find a clear answer. I'm 16 and me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex two nights in a row while I was on my period both times. Both times being the 2nd and 3rd day of my period. He didn't ejaculate in me but would I get pregnant from pre-cum though I have me period?

Female | 16

You can get pregnant during periods. It needs to be highlighted that it is possible for pre-cum to bear sperm so that is why the possibility is very low.  If you are pregnant, you may see symptoms such as nausea, and painful breasts. It could be down to missing your period and simple diseases like nausea and breast tenderness can be the first sign.

Hello, Dr.! My girlfriend and I had a sexual encounter. We had oral sex and fingered each other. However, our genitals accidentally touched two or three times for a few seconds each. There was no penetration during the deed; just the Penis touched the vulva; there was no rubbing or ejaculating anywhere near her (I ejaculated 5-10 mins after the touching of our genitals). But I was scared because of the genital touching and fingering (I did not ejaculate on my hand and after ejaculation I did not touch her genitals and I did fingering before oral sex), so I began reading articles on the internet, and all of them stated that there is a chance of getting pregnant because pre-cum contains sperms. She also had her periods on June 10, 2022, and we were engaged in this action on June 19 , 2022. She also took an i-pill within 24 hours as a precaution. Is there any hope of becoming pregnant?

No chance of pregnancy

I have a 12 week pregnancy and my baby head size is 2 cm showing on tha scan is it normal

Female | 20

At 12 weeks, the 2 cm head size of the baby displayed in the scans is normal. This is nothing but a predictable growth pattern. The baby's brain will continue to grow to the same body proportions during the pregnancy. An infant's cranial size at this stage is crucial in the development of the brain, thus this is an important parameter to control.

I have missed my 1st period. UPT was positive and I had my last period on 12th of April. What should I do to avoid pregnancy

Female | 25

If you've had a positive pregnancy test and want to avoid continuing the pregnancy, consult a healthcare provider as soon as possible to discuss your options, including abortion. Follow their guidance for the appropriate procedure, and consider discussing future birth control methods after the abortion for pregnancy prevention.

Will a girl get pregnant if she has intimate with someone a day after her periods got over?

Female | 15

It's unlikely for a girl to get pregnant a day after her period ends because that's typically considered a low-risk time for conception. However, it's important to remember that sperm can survive in the body for several days, so there is still a small chance of pregnancy. To be safe, using protection every time is a good practice to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. If you're concerned, emergency contraception can be taken within a few days of unprotected intercourse to reduce the risk further. It's always good to stay informed and take precautions for your reproductive health.
