Each patient with kidney stones faces different complications and severity. The doctor will choose the surgery procedure on that basis.

There are mainly four types of surgery for the removal of kidney stones.

Let’s discuss them to make it easier to choose the suitable option for you!

Types of Surgeries for Kidney Stone Removal

  1. Ureteroscopy
  • The surgeon passes a small telescope down the urethra and bladder until it reaches the kidney stone.
  • A laser fiber inside the telescope breaks the stone
  • Smaller kidney stones are best removed with this method.
  • INR 1,10,914 or 1,356 USD is the average cost in Mumbai for Ureteroscopy.

  1.  Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)
  • If you have large or unusually shaped kidney stones, your doctor can advise you to have one of these operations.
  • A small fiber-optic camera is inserted through a small incision in the back of the patient to enter the kidney.
  • The kidney stone is then removed by the surgeon using a tube.
  • INR 1,10,914 or 1,356 USD is the average PCNL surgery in Mumbai.

  1. Shockwave lithotripsy
  • A surgeon typically uses this as an outpatient surgery to locate and remove kidney stones.
  • The surgeon uses sound waves and X-rays to destroy the stones.
  • A person might require multiple operations, including a ureteroscopy, if the surgeon cannot remove all kidney stones.
  • The average cost for shockwave lithotripsy in Mumbai is Rs.45,200 - Rs.56,500 per session or 553 - 691 USD.

  1. Open Surgery
  • Doctors only suggest open surgery after other methods fail to remove kidney stones.
  • A surgeon opens the kidney and ureter through a side incision.
  • After that, the stone is located and taken out.
  • Rs.1,13,000 to Rs.2,26,000 or 1,382 to 2,763 USD is the average cost for open surgery in Mumbai.

Note: The above costs are estimates and may differ by 5–10% depending on the individual, currency fluctuation, and other factors. Actual prices may vary depending on the case, the surgeon, hospital, etc. For the actual treatment cost, don't hesitate to get in touch with us.

Male | 52

It's normal for semen volume to decrease due to factors like stress, diet, and aging. However, if you experience unusual sensations or painful urination, consider seeing a doctor. Focus on relaxation, eating nutritious meals, staying hydrated, and allowing your body time to recover. The issue may resolve naturally.

Femenino | 38

Good day I have a frequent urination problem with episodes of not feeling when to go and sometimes urgency. I saw a urologist end last year. He didnt say much after doing ultrasound he said residual urine is fine. He prescribed Betmiga 50mg I havent started it yet because I'm scared it's going to cause urinary retention. He also found a trace of blood in my urine and said I must schedule a cystoscope in this year which I've done for May. Sometimes I have trace blood and sometimes not. My bladder doesnt feel and look right it seems very enlarged to me however the urologist didnt mention anything about enlargement. Alot of symptoms over the years was or is also psychological Ive been told by doctors and psychiatrist many years back. Should I go for the scope Im scared it's going to make things worst. The blood in urine over years has always been a trace and it is not constant however the last two urine culture tests they found trace of blood.. I am 35 years old male, height 1.63 metres, weight around 80kg. There's no sign of prostrate problems also I had the PSA test done last year. When it feels like I keep my pee in too long even like 10 minutes longer there is a pressure between my legs between my anus and my penis retracts Im really worried. My stools also alternate and put pressure on my bladder and affects the urination. I have been diagnosed as having IBS by a gastroenterologist.

Frequent urination, urgency, blood in urine - these could signal bladder trouble. Your urologist's cystoscopy will give insights into what's happening inside your bladder, ruling out potential problems. It's understandable feeling anxious about the procedure, but don't fret too much over the scope worsening things - it's a routine, safe way to get a clear look. !

Engaging in sexual activity too soon could lead to complications such as bleeding or infection. It's important to listen to your body and take things slow when reintroducing sexual activity...
