You may have an allergy to the lungs which makes you cough, wheeze, and feel shortness of breath. Dust, pollen, or pet dander are some of the things that set off these allergies. The symptoms usually persist and disappear, even with the treatment. Take your prescribed medications regularly, avoid the triggers, and see a pulmonologist regularly for better management.

My boyfriend (age 27) has had this all day every day hacking/throat clearing cough with mucus since January... I've been begging him since to get it checked. He waited 4 months until April & finally went. Well, the chest x-ray came back clear. But then why is he still coughing?? I'm exhausted of this, not knowing what it is, but hearing it all day every day, anxious beyond belief while he claims he's "fine" when it's not normal.
Male | 27
Even though his chest Xray came back clear, ruling out obvious lung abnormalities or infections. STill other causes like allergies, postnasal drip, GERD, asthma, or chronic bronchitis could still be responsible. Encourage him to follow up with a medical professional for further evaluation and testing to identify the underlying cause of his symptoms. Taking his cough seriously and seeking medical attention is important for appropriate treatment and relief.

Anxiety may also bring about a rare situation where one finds it hard to breathe. As an alternative try to keep away from as often as possible and have deep breath exercises to calm anxiety or chat with someone. I believe I have a pretty nasty cold or possibly flu-lke virus and i just want to make sure that my symptoms dont require further medical intervention. It started Friday night 03/22/24 with a severe sore throat, post nasal drip, and diarrhea. The progression of symptoms has gone from severe throat pain to pain and congestion/runniness and dry bloody sinuses with a sinus headache, to some sinus congestion/runniness with coughing. I do not have a sore throat now and i dont have diarrhea but i do have nausea which ive had the whole time but it seems a little worse now, and i have significant fatigue and muscle weakness. My eyes are also dry and crusty and very bloodshot. Im not really having trouble breathing, and ive had a very low grade fever/no fever throughout the entire duration of this illness.
Female | 23
It appears a viral infection, like flu, troubles you. The sore throat, post nasal drip, diarrhea, sinus issues, cough, nausea, and fatigue - all common viral signs. Stay hydrated well; rest up properly; use saline rinses or OTC meds for symptomatic reprieve. If symptoms worsen or concerns arise, consult a pulmonologist promptly.

Asthma symptoms can involve throat irritation, wheezing, shortness of breath, and excess mucus - especially when exposed to smoke or dust. Asthma is an airway issue where inflammation and narrowing happen. This makes breathing harder. It's crucial you see a doctor to get properly diagnosed and a treatment plan outlined. This may involve medications like inhalers that help manage symptoms and prevent asthma attacks from occurring. Your description sounds like you might be experiencing asthma, so getting it checked out by a pulmonologist is important.
