What should I do if my child swallowed glass?

Patient's Query

Mai sure nahi hu par mujhe lgta h mera baccha chota kanch kha gya Mujhe kya krna chahiye

Answered by Dr. Babita Goel

Most small objects pass through the digestive system without causing harm. However, it's important to keep an eye out for any symptoms like difficulty breathing, vomiting, or abdominal pain. If your child shows any of these signs, please seek medical help from pediatrician. In the meantime, you can encourage your child to eat fiber-rich foods like fruits and vegetables to help things move along smoothly.

These symptoms can be caused by a viral or bacterial infection. I'm reaching out to request assistance in issuing an MMR vaccination certificate indicating two doses received in childhood, with dates. Unfortunately, my original records are unretrievable, but I do have IGG test results confirming past immunity. This is solely for admission for MS purpose. Could you please help?

Male | 23

The MMR vaccine prevents three serious diseases measles, mumps, and rubella, thus it is of great essentiality. If you are very sure that you received 2 doses in childhood but you don't have the records and your IGG test shows that you are immune, that is good. You must get a certificate for your admission to the MS program. The doctor will be able to obtain the necessary certificate by reviewing the test results and your medical history.

Kids often don't have an appetite and get sick. This can happen when they're growing up fast. Infections, bad food choices, or even stress might cause it. Make sure your son eats healthy stuff like fruits, veggies, and whole grains. Little meals and snacks work better than big ones sometimes. He needs water and rest too. If it keeps happening, talk to the doctor about what's going on and what to do next.

My 2 years old son is diagnosed with autism. He doesn't speak a single word. He has a poor eye contact. He doesn't understand what we say to him. However he responds to us. Will he be mentally disabled? Or will improve in future?

Female | 40

Children with autism may have delayed speech development, often avoid eye contact, and struggle with comprehension. Not speaking by age 2 could be a warning sign. However, this doesn't mean they will have a lifelong disability. Early intervention, like speech and behavior therapy, can significantly improve their condition.

My son is now 4 yrs . problem is that speech delay with Autism. Occupation n speech therapy r continue. How can I better success 4 my son.

Male | 4

A speech delay in autism means a child may have problems talking or expressing their thoughts. This can be a source of frustration for them. Continue with speech therapy as it can develop communication skills. On the other hand, visual aids and repeating routines can help her become clear about him.

Female | 01 year 17days

These symptoms could be caused by a viral infection like the common cold or flu. Sometimes, allergies or even a bacterial infection could be the culprits too. It's important to keep her comfortable in the meantime by ensuring she gets plenty of rest, drinks lots of fluids, and uses a humidifier to ease her breathing.

I have a 7-year-old daughter who has been evaluated for autism, noting that she does not have much autism, but she suffers from a real delay in speech (conversation), but she can ask sometimes, and listen to commands while accepting or rejecting them sometimes.

My son 9 yrs old. He does competitive swimming. In last Feb, after xray doctor has told that he has 50% enlargement of adenoid. He allowed to do swimming. Child suffer cold almost once every month. Today also we checked thru endoscopy. It is still 50% as per doctor. Should we continue swimming or we need to stop..we need second opinion

Male | 9

Sometimes having enlarged adenoids can make them more susceptible to cold. Perhaps swimming is a factor that irritates his adenoids. It is important to ensure his health is not sacrificed for his swimming hobby. I suggest giving a short break to him swimming and observing whether his adenoids get better. This might help him get less affected by cold.

From and up to what age is chickenpox healthy for children?

Female | 25

Chickenpox is generally more common in children and is often considered a childhood disease. It's most commonly seen in children aged 1 to 12 years. In many cases, getting chickenpox during childhood leads to immunity, meaning that a person is less likely to get it again later in life. However, chickenpox can affect individuals of any age, including adults.
