Why won't my 15-month-old stop crying at night?

Patient's Query

My 15month baby girl crying continuously from last 40mintutes.. at night from 12:40 Am

Answered by Dr. Babita Goel

There could be a few reasons why she's crying persistently. It might be due to teething discomfort, a tummy ache, or even just feeling a bit unsettled. One thing you can try is gently comforting and soothing her, maybe with a warm bath or some gentle rocking. If the crying continues or if you notice any other concerning symptoms, like a fever or changes in her breathing, it's best to reach out to your pediatrician for further advice. In the meantime, just being there for her and offering that comfort can go a long way.

My son 9 yrs old. He does competitive swimming. In last Feb, after xray doctor has told that he has 50% enlargement of adenoid. He allowed to do swimming. Child suffer cold almost once every month. Today also we checked thru endoscopy. It is still 50% as per doctor. Should we continue swimming or we need to stop..we need second opinion

Male | 9

Sometimes having enlarged adenoids can make them more susceptible to cold. Perhaps swimming is a factor that irritates his adenoids. It is important to ensure his health is not sacrificed for his swimming hobby. I suggest giving a short break to him swimming and observing whether his adenoids get better. This might help him get less affected by cold.

When the body fights an infection, fever can occur. Signs that may point to a serious infection are vomiting and high fever. The injection given at the hospital may require time before its effects are seen. It's important to keep her hydrated and try cooling methods. Reddish spots, itchy feelings, and bumpy rashes can show up on baby's skin from allergies. Causes could be bug bites or foods their body doesn't like. Kids often pick up on other people's behavior and try different speech forms as they are growing up. Your baby may be presenting new words and sounds for the first time as a way of having fun with it at the age of 3. It is a usual part of their development thus they are learning to talk. Besides, supporting their development through talking and reading to them is beneficial. Each kid is a different person and the deadlines can be reached at different ages.

My kid had constant throat clearing and dry cough he feels some mucus stuck in throat but couldn't cough out..... It's been the third time in this year now.... What medicine should I give..... No runny nose and fever now....

Male | 10

It seems like your child has postnasal drip. This happens when mucus from the nose drips down into the throat, causing throat clearing sounds and a dry cough. It can happen even without a runny nose or fever. You can help by giving your child warm drinks and using a humidifier to ease the congestion. Make sure they drink plenty of water to help thin the mucus as well.

Zifi 200 is an antibiotic. It treats bacterial infections. For a 23 kg child, take 200 mg twice daily. Finish all doses, even if feeling better. That kills all germs properly. Give Zifi 200 with food. It may prevent stomach issues.
