Questions & Answers on "Neurology" (951)
April 12,2023 I was showering when I finish I heard a sound in my head like pipes falling. Then I notice I couldn't hear in my left ear and I started hear a loud buzzing sound. This was a weekend and I couldn't see my doctor until Monday. He had me take a ct scan to rule out a stroke. I then was given a referral to see an ENT . I was told by the ENT that I was deaf in my left ear and a hearing aid wouldn't help me and come back in a month. I became so angry with this person because he didn't care about my health issue. I feel like I am on this journey alone. Through my research, I found there is no cure for sudden hearing loss. However it appears stem cells offer promise for a cure. When do you think there may be a cure or which country is ahead of the curve for a cure.
Male | 76
Sudden hearing loss, like what you've described, is known as sudden sensorineural hearing loss. Common symptoms include hearing a loud buzzing sound and feeling as though your ear is blocked. The exact cause isn't always clear, but it may be related to infections or blood circulation issues in the ear. While there is no known cure, researchers in countries like Japan are exploring stem cell treatments as a potential future option. It's important to prioritize your health and stay in regular contact with your doctor.

Headache one side of head and vomiting some time, in sunlight when I stand 5-10min then I will senseless, can't concentrate on my study, and heavy anger issue
Female | 20
It sounds like you’re experiencing significant discomfort, which could be linked to conditions like migraines or tension headaches, especially when exposed to bright light. Nausea and difficulty concentrating may stem from this. Stress and anger can exacerbate these symptoms, leading to a cycle of discomfort. I recommend taking regular breaks in a quiet, cool space, staying hydrated, and practicing relaxation techniques. However, it’s crucial to discuss these symptoms with a neurologist for a comprehensive evaluation and tailored advice.

Male | 23
You are worried about your memory after bleeding within the brain. It is not uncommon for people to have these types of problems with their memories following such events. Some of the symptoms may involve having trouble remembering things that have occurred recently or forgetting appointments altogether; also clock watching could be difficult too. This can affect anyone at any age.

I have a headache especially temples crushing headache at night
Female | 26
You’re dealing with some pretty intense headaches, especially in or around your temples at night. There are a few reasons why this might be happening. One possibility is that it’s caused by stress, not getting enough sleep, or too much screen time – which can strain your eyes. Drinking plenty of water and trying to relax before bed could help make it hurt less. If this keeps going on though, talking to a doctor would be a good next step.

Something popped on the right side of my brain, and it feels soar and has tiny spurts of pain. When it first happens I had light headaches around my head. Nothing seriously painful, and I’m having dizzy spells. Nothing uncontrollable but it’s weird.
Male | 35
The description seems as if you might have a certain issue called a migraine. Zapping sensations in the brain are the "popping" which can be accompanied by a headache and dizziness. The pain is temporary but, these headaches can feel sore to the point of causing a brief moment of pain. A lot of times, the cause of the migraines is stress, deprivation of sleep, and high intake of certain foods. Along with the symptoms, you might want to rest in a quiet, dark room and drink fluids to hydrate. If the symptoms continue or worsen, visit a neurologist for additional treatment and checking.

I have been facing severe pain in the veins of my neck
Male | 20
Poor posture, muscle tension, or stress can cause this. Do not sit still for too long and try some light neck exercises. Having a warm bath or using a hot water bottle might also be helpful. If you still feel pain after doing all these or it gets worse, we recommend that you consult with a healthcare professional immediately.

My girlfriend suddenly fell unconscious after crying so baldy and after waking up after 5 mins she couldn’t remember anything she even didn’t remember that we were calling
Female | 17
Your girlfriend fainted, it seems. Crying hard can make blood pressure drop - that makes people faint sometimes. She might've forgotten a bit too. Stay calm, reassure her. Let her rest, drink water, get fresh air. If it happens lots, see a neurologist.

Male | 37
Your elevated blood pressure readings and fluctuating blood sugar levels may also contribute to these feelings. The medications you've received, including antihistamines and antimalarials, should help address your condition. However, if dizziness persists or worsens, I recommend reaching out to your healthcare provider for a follow-up. They can offer further evaluation to ensure you receive appropriate care and guidance.

The dizziness or spinning sensation you described may signal an issue with your inner ear or balance system. While medications can help, sometimes they are not enough on their own. I recommend following up with a neurologist to discuss your current medication and explore other potential treatments. Occupational therapy or vestibular rehabilitation may also be beneficial. Always prioritize your health, and seeking further assistance will help you find a solution.

Male | 50
It sounds like you're experiencing discomfort with burning, tingling, and electric sensations in your extremities. Despite normal nerve conduction studies and EMG tests, these symptoms can arise from various causes, including nerve irritation or metabolic factors like elevated blood sugar levels. I recommend continuing to monitor your glucose levels closely. Since medications haven't fully alleviated your pain, consulting a neurologist for further evaluation could be beneficial. They might consider other treatment options or therapies tailored to your needs.

Male | 26
Hearing sounds like ringing can be due to various factors, such as exposure to loud noises, earwax buildup, or stress. Sometimes, this sensation can also indicate underlying health conditions. To manage this, ensure you protect your ears from loud environments, consider reducing stress through relaxation techniques, and maintain good ear hygiene. Staying hydrated and getting enough rest may also help. If these sounds persist or worsen, I encourage you to consult with a neurologist for a complete evaluation.

Male | 31
Nimesulide, at a dosage of 100mg, can be effective in alleviating headaches, generally caused by tension, sinus issues, or migraines. It works by reducing inflammation and relieving pain. However, it's important to consider the underlying reason for your discomfort. If headaches persist or worsen, seeking advice from a neurologist is wise. They can offer a comprehensive evaluation and alternative treatments if needed. Staying hydrated, managing stress, and ensuring adequate rest can also greatly help.
