Questions & Answers on "Neurology" (993)
What exactly does TBI stand for and what is it's meaning and function?
Male | 40
Traumatic Brain Injury occurs when there's a sudden jolt or blow to the head, leading to damage in the brain tissue. This can happen due to accidents, falls, or sports injuries. The effects of TBI can vary from mild (like a brief change in mental status) to severe (resulting in long-term complications). If you suspect a TBI, it's crucial to seek medical help promptly. Remember to rest, avoid activities that can worsen the injury, and follow advice from your neurologist. They may recommend imaging tests or neurological assessments to understand the extent of the injury and plan the best course of action.

Here is my story, Doctor. So, two years ago, I suddenly felt immense pain in my foot and got bedridden for almost three months. And then I rushed to a physician because at the time there was no neurologist in my city. The physician tested my vitamins and gave me some vitamins. It eventually got better and I was able to walk. I was overweight at that time and my physician told me that it's all because of weight. And then I lost almost 20 kilograms, but there was still feeling of socks. I don't feel any pain or anything, but I just feel like I'm wearing socks. Then after almost two years, I visited a neurologist with this and she tested my vitamins. She prescribed me vitamin D supplements since my vitamin D is at 12, but for one month. Nothing happened with this one month treatment. Then she did my NCV. She said my NCV reports are normal and has prescribed me some vitamins again. What do you think, how much time it would take to get completely cured?
Female | 21
Based on what you have told me, the peripheral disorder mentioned by the speaker is on track with peripheral nerve disease. In most cases, the feeling of socks on your feet could be easily attributed to peripheral neuropathy. You are lucky that your neurologist has done so many tests and that your vitamins and nerves are under control. Please continue to take the vitamins as per the doctor's prescription and remain patient. You will need some time to see improvements in your nerves. Also, keeping a check on your weight and living a healthy life will speed up your recovery while doing well.

Male | 37
Dizziness and headaches can stem from various causes, including infections or blood pressure fluctuations. The test results indicate some form of infection, which could be contributing to your symptoms. The medications prescribed should help, but if you're still experiencing dizziness, it's vital to consult a neurologist for a thorough evaluation and possible adjustment of your treatment. Keeping hydrated and resting can also aid recovery.

Neck discomfort, a heavy sensation in your head, and nerve-related pain are concerning symptoms. They may arise from stress, improper posture, or abrupt movement. Relax your neck muscles, maintain good posture, and apply warmth to alleviate the pain. However, if these issues persist, you can book an appointment with an experienced neurologist for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Remedies to decrease B6 levels . Due to high B6 levels my sensory nerves are paining. I stop taking B6 and numbness too in feet and burns
Male | 24
Excessive vitamin B6 results in nerve issues manifesting as foot pain, numbness, and burning. Reduce the intake of foods and supplements loaded with B6. Symptoms of tingling, weakness, and trouble walking may occur. Overdose of vitamins can result in these kinds of issues. E.g., a balanced diet low in B6 including bananas, potatoes, and chicken. Allow your body to slow down while it returns to the natural cycle.

I just need to make sure there’s nothing wrong with me. I’m in a lot I’m feeling diffuseness like under the rib pain incredibly dry mouth sore eyes forgetfulness, nausea, wheezing chest pain
Female | 14
I listened to your worries about being unwell and describing different symptoms. What you feel, for example, like down at the liver, no saliva, the eyes are so sore, and nausea, could be one of the many possible reasons, including strain, allergy, or dryness that might be the cause. To treat issues like these, you need to look at the whole picture. Keep drinking water, sleeping, and lowering stress levels. However, this magic can be a call for professional help as well. My advice is to see a healthcare professional so that they can screen you fully. They will help you personally with the right advice and health care you need to get better.

Shaking, racing heart, weakness, balance issues, and fast thinking are signs of different issues. Low blood sugar due to a poor diet, anxiety, or other medical conditions can be the cause. It's important to get help. For now, consume something with sugar, such as a piece of fruit or a teaspoon of honey. Do not forget to see a neurologist and get a proper evaluation.

Male | 41
As per the complaints, this is a case of Sinusitis.
If you have sinusitis, the doctor may be able to recommend additional medications to relieve your symptoms, such as steroid nasal sprays or drops to reduce sinus swelling.
antihistamines - if your symptoms are caused by an allergy
Antibiotics - if you have a bacterial infection and are severely sick or at risk of consequences, antibiotics may be prescribed (but antibiotics are often not needed, as sinusitis is usually caused by a virus)

Female | Abei
Experiencing a tingling sensation, itching, and abdominal discomfort can be linked to various factors, including stress, anxiety, or nerve-related issues. These symptoms might arise during moments of stress or panic. It's essential to engage in relaxation techniques, maintain a balanced diet, and ensure proper hydration. Regular physical activity can also help alleviate tension. However, since your symptoms involve multiple areas of discomfort, I recommend seeking guidance from a neurologist. They can offer a thorough evaluation and tailored solutions to address your concerns effectively.
