Questions & Answers on "Psychiatry" (531)

I visited a psychiatrist and he prescribed me these meds. Daxtin 20mg Daxtin 40mg Fluvoxamine 50mg Etilaam .25mg Explain these medicines from all perspective and help me get a pros and cons list

Male | 21

Here's some brief information about the medicines that your psychiatrist has recommended: 1. Daxtin 20mg and Daxtin 40mg: These are prescribed for depression. These drugs can help increase the serotonin and norepinephrine levels, improving your mood and energy. 2. Fluvoxamine 50mg: It's also great for depression and anxiety. It works better for sleep and decreases the level of anxiety. 3. Etilaam 0.25mg: It cures anxiety and panic attacks. Positive: Such products have the potential to alleviate depression, give you a good night's sleep, and anxiety at a manageable level.

Negative: It might bring alongside other effects such as vomiting, giddiness, and drowsiness. In other words, these medications are intended to make you feel better, but they can also cause other health problems. Do not stop taking them on your own – always take them as your doctor has prescribed and notify them of any discrepancies in your condition!

I am having insomnia for almost a week plus. I usually get myself to sleep at around 10pm, but recently always sudden wake up at 1am or 2am, then I couldn’t fall sleep again. It affects my work as I will be looking extremely tired and unable to talk well with my customers. I am not sure what’s happening

Female | 34

It sounds like you may be experiencing insomnia, which means having trouble sleeping. Common symptoms include difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. One solution is to create a bedtime routine, avoid screens before bed, and try relaxation techniques. If the problem persists, consider talking to a medical professional for help.

Male | 33

If you get anxious and agitated after drinking alcohol, it is best to stay away from alcohol from now on. But once the symptoms start to be severe like hard breathing, it is important to go to a doctor immediately. How to reduce adrenaline anxiety?

The inner glands produce adrenaline. Adrenaline is also known as the “fight-or-flight hormone.” It's released in response to a stressful, exciting, dangerous, or threatening situation. Adrenaline helps your body react more quickly. One can reduce adrenaline by activating relaxation response ( in contrast of fight and flight response) by doing meditation, yoga, playing a sport, listening to music ect. One can do relaxation exercises like Jacobsons progressive muscular relaxation, pranayam and through guided imagery.

The tetanus toxoid vaccine produces immunity by blocking the bacterial infection. If you see redness, warmth, or swelling, or if you have fever or muscle stiffness, contact the doctor as fast as you can. Monitor the different symptoms that may arise and just come back to us if there is any need

I can't sleep I have tachycardia anxiety. Haven't slept for 2 days. I have lorazepam here how much should I take, I have never took anything like that.

Male | 35

The first thing to do is to make an appointment with your family doctor or a specialist to discuss your tachycardia anxiety. Lorazepam self-medication is not advised, and this is especially for those who have never used this drug. Taking the wrong dosage might lead to negative effects and it could also lead to other health problems. For this condition, you will need to consult a professional for a competent diagnosis and the most useful treatment.

I was wondering if I might have something such as DID, as I have been experiencing some symptoms. 1: I have auditory hallucinatons from time to time, like people talking, or whispering my name. 2: I cannot remeber most of my childhood at all. 3: I also talk to myself a lot, like I am a different person. 4: I have visual hallucinations sometimes, like shadows in the corner of my eye 5: Also have trouble focusing sometimes 6: very impulsive sometimes 7: I also daydream alot, and usually for 30 minutes + I and my sister was verbally abused from 2016 to 2022. It stopped in 2022 because I pointed it out. My ‘alters’ aren’t so complicated they are just different aspects of myself really. Most of the time to the extreme though. Like one is me but angry, sad, etc. Once I had a bit of a dissociative fugue, when I kind of just fazed out on the bus and I came to, on the bus but at a different point in the road, and I had no memory of what had happened.

Male | 18

Based on the symptoms, your problem may be Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Consulting with an experienced psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, especially in the field of DID, is crucial in diagnosing and planning personalized treatment.
