Can I Get Medicine Without Expected Prescription?

Patient's Query

I need a prescription from the Doctor to get my medicine I have got approval prescription from UK but the Pharmacy doesn't expect it

Answered by Dr. Babita Goel

Usually, pharmacies require prescriptions to be issued by a local doctor to ensure its validity. In this case, since you have a prescription from the UK, the pharmacy may not be able to fill it. My recommendation would be to schedule an appointment with a physician locally who can assess your condition and provide a new prescription accordingly. This way, you can ensure you're receiving the right medication safely.

The doctor prescribed me a medicine (megapin) of 500mg but the megapin I got has a label 250/250 mg does that mean the medicine is total 500mg?

Male | 60

When medicine labels show 250/250 mg, it means there are two ingredients, each with 250 mg. One tablet contains 500 mg (250 + 250 = 500 mg). You're getting the correct dose your doctor prescribed. Follow the instructions for how many tablets to take.

Show me the best treatment medicine,Sir!!!

Male | 30

The most common question might be regarding pain, inflammation, or infection, which is usually a precursor for the treatment being tailored. The treatment typically includes anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, or procedures that are directed at a specific target, according to your condition. Along with this, a healthy lifestyle is a key factor in well-being that should be followed. However, I highly recommend seeing a healthcare professional who will make an accurate diagnosis and provide the right treatment for you. It is a method that allows you to receive the most competent and effective treatment.\

I'm little concerned about exposure to pure toluene. I think I accidentally inhaled toluene vapours while working with it on solvents. Although nothing seems to be affected, but what precautionary measure should I take now? I don't huff toluene or inhale intentionally for addiction. But, I work with toluene as an artist to restore damaged brushes or wipe of paints

Male | 31

Toluene exposure can cause dizziness, headaches, and lightheadedness. Move to a well-ventilated area when using it and wear a protective mask. If you feel unwell, go outside for fresh air immediately.

HBsAg (ECLIA) Test regarding suggestions

Female | 38

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to detect the presence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in the blood. This test is highly sensitive and specific and is the preferred method for the diagnosis of HBsAg infection. An electro-chemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLIA) can also be used to detect HBsAg in the blood. This test is less sensitive than ELISA, but it is more specific, meaning it is less likely to give a false positive result.
