Can I get pregnant after taking Saheli twice?

Patient's Query

We had sex on 8dec ,and her usual period date is on 16dec ,can she get pregnant and also she has taken saheli just on 7dec night and before she had taken saheli before on 1dec .

Answered by Dr. Nisarg Patel

It's important to know that the likelihood of pregnancy depends on various factors, including the timing of ovulation and the effectiveness of emergency contraception like Saheli. Saheli works by preventing ovulation, fertilization, and implantation of the egg. However, since it was taken shortly before intercourse, its effectiveness may be reduced. It's always best to use additional protection like condoms for added security. In this situation, I recommend keeping track of her menstrual cycle and looking out for any unusual symptoms. If her period is late or if she experiences any concerning symptoms, a pregnancy test can provide clarity. It's essential to stay informed and consult a gynecologist for personalized advice.

My fiance and I had unprotected intercourse 12 days back her expected period date was 1 November according to last month but her periods didn't arrive yet so what should we do?

Female | 22

It could be because of several factors that include stress, change in weight or hormonal disturbances if your fiancée has missed her menstrual cycle. But the main reason is pregnancy. A test should be conducted to determine whether she is pregnant or not. Further assessment and treatment should be discussed with a gynecologist.

I AM 15 Weeks pregnant and my TSH Harmone is 3.75 is it normal or I have required medicine

Female | 30

When you are 15 weeks pregnant, the TSH level at 3.75 is a minimally higher value than the ideal range for pregnancy, but it remains on the safer side. So if you are not at the stage of subclinical disease, this parameter indicates that your thyroid is not far from the ideal range for pregnancy.

It is common for some women to experience missed or delayed periods, but it is important to understand the underlying cause for this issue. Please my girlfriend is having some signs and she has concluded that it's cancer but I also don't know the type of cancer. She is having a bad discharge down there, her breast is itching and she is losing her hair

Male | 23

Let her first consult a gynecologist or an oncologist, for a proper evaluation and diagnosis. The symptoms you mentioned such as a bad discharge, breast itching, and hair loss, can have various causes, and it's not possible to determine the specific type of cancer based on those symptoms alone. It's natural to feel concerned, but only a medical professional can accurately diagnose the cause of her symptoms.

Female | 25

It's generally recommended to avoid alcohol or to consume it in moderation for those who are trying to conceive or are already pregnant.
Even if its 5% alcohol beer in moderation and may not have a significant impact on fertility or pregnancy outcomes, it's important to know that every person and pregnancy is unique.
