Hello how are you. I had sex on 5th march and got my period 14 march. April too I see my period and may also can I still be pregnant please help me

Answered by Dr. Swapna Chekuri

It seems unlikely that you would be pregnant if you had a period in March, April, and May after having sex on March 5th. Having regular periods indicates that you're not pregnant.

Questions & Answers on "Gynaecology" (5171)

Question for OBGYN or anyone in women’s health: I am 25F and have been using the Evra estrogen+progesterone patch (Canadian version) since February 2023 (almost 3 years) due to abnormally heavy periods leading to anemia. It has essentially stopped my period. For the last year only, since April, my “periods” (or breakthrough bleeding) have become more regular, occurring every 3 months or so. I usually will remove the patch when it starts to allow myself to shed any excess lining. But more recently I have been shedding extremely thick clots of coagulated blood/lining, multiple times an hour, each clot about the size of the palm of my hand. This coupled with EXTREMELY heavy bleeding. I use the largest and thickest available overnight pads throughout the day and night, and each one is soaked through in about an hour, along with 2-3 large jelly-like clots sitting on top of the pad which I have to pick up manually and dispose of in the toilet. I can feel the clots passing most often when moving from sitting to standing, as it is accompanied by a wave of abdominal pain and then the uncomfortable sensation of passing a large mass of tissue. I went to the ER the first time this started happening as I was worried about the blood loss. They instructed me to take iron supplements (which I already do) and told me it was normal on the patch - but it isn’t typical for me. It’s been impossible to find a doctor available nearby so I was hoping to get some more insight into why this is suddenly starting to happen, and whether it’s safe for me to continue on the Evra patch. Thank you so much for any help.

I am currently on phentermine for weight loss and metformin for insulin resistance. I also take vitamins b12,d3,water pills, and vaginal ph balance vitamins. I'm currently on the depo Provera birth control shot once every 3 months. My last shot was feb.13th. I have had more frequent headaches for 2 weeks and ive lost a lot of weight the past 2 weeks and im also very fatigued everyday. To add to it. Ive been more emotional and moody. My moods are all over the place. I recently had bleeding for about 8 days (march22nd to April 1st) it wasn't heavy at all (I didn't need a pad or anything), but it was red. Not dark. Bright light red. It had suddenly started. Lasted for 8 days and then suddenly stopped. I never bleed because im on depo. Maybe an occasional spotting for a few hours every 3 or 4 months, but never actual bleeding. I thought it was odd so I took a pregnancy test. Faint positive. So took 4 more and they were all faint positives. Both red and blue dye tests. I had no cramping while I was bleeding, but now I'm having slight tightness in my lower belly and some upper back pain. Dull back pain. What could this possibly mean?

You need to go to the gynecologist for professional assessment. According to the symptoms, phentermine, metformin, and Depo Provera may be hindering your menstrual cycles and hormonal balance. Blood and home pregnancy test kits may indicate the chance of pregnancy, but confirmation with additional tests is important.

I’m having a hestoscopy d and c done next week. I wanted to know if if usually allow to go ahead with the procedure if I have a chipped tooth/ broken tooth?

Female | 39

A chipped or cracked tooth needs attention before hysteroscopy D&C. Inform your doctor if you notice any sharp edges or discomfort. They may suggest fixing it before to avoid complications during the procedure. Having a smooth, pain-free mouth helps ensure a smoother process.

I'm sher from Pakistan. We have been 4 years being married but my wife couldn't conceive, according to doctors, the eggs problem.. !

Female | 28

I recommend you to see a gynecologist or a reproductive endocrinologist for consultation. They will be able to find out the reason for your wife being infertile and will offer different possible solutions. If it comes to egg concerns, then the fertility doctor can recommend some assisted reproductive techniques such as egg donation or IVF.

Male | 60

It sounds like you're looking for a more personalized approach during your physical exams. To find female doctors who can accommodate your preferences, consider seeking referrals from friends, family, or local medical associations. Many clinics allow you to express your comfort levels with medical staff, so explaining your wishes during scheduling can help. Always prioritize open communication with your healthcare provider to ensure a supportive environment. If you're ever uncomfortable, discussing your preferences with your doctor is essential for a positive experience.

My period is late for 13days and then i take unwanted 72tablet

Female | 22

If you have concerns about potential pregnancy or irregular periods, consider taking a pregnancy test or consulting with a healthcare professional for personalized advice. Also keep in mind that unwanted 72 is not a regular form of birth control and should only be used as an emergency measure.

i am having pcos..and want to conceive....pls suggest medicines .....for that

Female | 30

Conceiving with PCOS is hard, but it is possible with certain approaches. PCOS might cause irregular periods, weight gain, and difficulty getting pregnant because your ovaries make too many male hormones. Your doctor can prescribe drugs that help regulate your menstrual cycle and increase the odds of regular ovulation which can bump up your chances for conception. These medications work by balancing out hormone levels while raising the likelihood of successful pregnancy.
