Why are my vaginal symptoms recurring after STI treatment?
"Hi, l'm seeking some clarity about my health. Last month, I experienced vaginal soreness and white discharge, and I visited a clinic. The doctor examined me, saw the discharge, and assumed it was an STI without running any tests. She prescribed me some pills, but a month later, the symptoms returned. I went for testing this time, and surprisingly, my results came back negative for STls. I'm confused and worried about what might be causing my symptoms. Could it be a different infection, a reaction to the pills, or something else entirely? I'd appreciate your help in figuring out what's going on and finding a solution."

Vaginal soreness and white discharge can be due to various reasons other than STls. Nonetheless, great that you had a test, and one that was negative it is likely that you got another vaccine - like a yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis. These can provide the same symptoms but the treatment is different. Consult a gynecologist for more tests and correct medication.

I have chlamydia and I took pills for it but I don’t go away. How long does it take to go away? And is it normal to have blood and discharge and smell still?
Female | 23
If you’ve taken chlamydia pills and are still seeing blood, discharges, and smelling, then understand that symptoms may not disappear immediately. Chlamydia could persist if the treatment did not work. In some cases, another round of drugs might be necessary to clear it fully. Contact a gynecologist for more advice.

I ovulate after 10 days of the period can I get pregnant the next day
Female | 23
I suggest that you visit a gynecologist in order to have a whole examination and management of your menstrual causes. You would ovulate 14 days before the next period, so you probably won't ovulate the next day after period. But, sometimes, sporadic cycles may indicate hormonal imbalances or some medical problems. The choice of gynecologist would be the right expert to consult for further advice.

I’m 13 and for the past five days, it’s hurt when I pee or just after I pee. It really hurts and my mom won’t take me to get tested. I don’t know if it’s an infection or not and I’m scared of dying. What are some things I can do to help it be gone
Female | 13
You may have a urinary infection. The signs you mention, such as pain during urination, are typical of UTIs; they occur when bacteria enter the urinary system. Drink plenty of water to relieve the pain, do not hold your pee, and place a warm towel on your lower abdomen. If it persists, be sure to discuss visiting a urologist with your mom.

I am a 18 year old student, i had missed periods for around two months then later i got my periods but its been over a week and i still have over-bleeding.
Female | 18
You probably have menorrhagia, which means heavy or prolonged menstrual periods, a medical condition. It could happen for a variety of reasons, these include hormonal imbalances of the body, the presence of uterine fibroids, or even some medications. Symptoms involve heavy bleeding for more than a week, passing clots of blood, and feeling tired from blood loss. To deal with this, you need to drink plenty of watery liquids, lie down, and consume iron-rich foods to prevent anemia. If this persists, see a gynecologist to find out the probable causes and solutions.

Missing periods can be anxiety-provoking, but it can be the result of a variety of reasons. Stress, sudden gain or loss of weight, and hormonal imbalances are some common reasons. Medroxyprogesterone is effective in helping your period, but it may take some people longer than others. If you don't get your period after a few more days, go back to your gynecologist to discuss further steps.

I have been on birth control for 2 years now and I did it on Saturday night but the guy came in me a little bit should i take the morning after pill
Female | 19
When you don't use birth control perfectly, pregnancy risk rises. The morning-after pill prevents unwanted outcomes if taken within three days. Missed periods, nausea, sore breasts? Those pregnancy symptoms won't show up if you use this pill on time.

Please assist I had my periods for 2 weeks, they stopped for a week and then I started bleeding again
Female | 25
You are likely experiencing the fluctuations of normal vaginal bleeding. Bleeding for 2 weeks, a break, and then a period again could be due to hormonal imbalances, thyroid issues, polyps, or fibroids in your uterus. The primary step here is to see your doctor who will examine you and order tests to find out the exact cause. Medication or minor procedures are the possible treatment options based on the diagnosis.

Is taking mifepristone 10 mg effective as an emergency contraceptive pill? I took it hours after having unprotected sex.
Female | 23
Mifepristone is a medication that is typically not used in the 10 mg dose as an emergency contraceptive pill. It may be less beneficial than other methods such as emergency contraceptive pills containing levonorgestrel. Your preventive action is a good step. However, be aware that this may not be effective in preventing pregnancy. In case you experience any abnormal symptoms or if you suspect you are pregnant, it is recommended to visit a gynecologist.

Stress, weight fluctuations, and hormonal imbalance are some of the factors that can cause a delay in your period. As you had protected sex and your period is late only by 10 days, it is unlikely you are pregnant.
