Is Finding Worm in Period Blood Normal?

Patient's Query

Answered by Dr. Himali Patel

Finding a small worm in your pad during your period can be alarming, but let me reassure you - it's actually not uncommon. Sometimes parasites like pinworms can cause this. They might move from the intestines and come out in the stool or even the vaginal area. It's important to consult a gynecologist for proper evaluation and treatment. In the meantime, maintain good hygiene practices, wash your hands frequently, and avoid scratching the area.

Hi I'm pregnant and dnt know how far iam my last period was on 21 October

Female | 34

BASED ON YOUR LAST PERIOD, you may be around 6-8 WEEKS PREGNANT.. However, ONLY AN ULTRASOUND can give you the exact DUE DATE.. It's important to SCHEDULE your FIRST PRENATAL APPOINTMENT with a HEALTHCARE PROVIDER and start TAKING PRENATAL VITAMINS.. AVOID SMOKING, ALCOHOL, and harmful MEDICATIONS.. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, rest when needed, and MAINTAIN A HEALTHY DIET.... CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PREGNANCY!!

Hi doctor. My partner and I had only outercourse on 24th may. No intercourse. No penetration. Only dry humping with my boyfriend constantly wearing his tight boxers. Out of fear I took an ipill on 26th may (within 48 hours). I had a bleeding from 3rd june to 8th june (Light bleeding, like periods). Was it withdrawal bleeding, and if so, then am I safe from pregnancy. My last periods was on 17th May, so when may I expect my next periods, Dr.? I am really worried, I need your professional guidance and an assurance if possible, Dr.

Female | 24

Let me assure you that the chances of pregnancy from outercourse with protection like tight boxers are incredibly low. The bleeding you experienced from 3rd to 8th June may likely be withdrawal bleeding from the emergency contraceptive pill you took, which is a common side effect. Given that your last period was on 17th May, your cycle might be a bit irregular this month due to the emergency pill. You can expect your next period within the next few weeks. If you don't get it by then, a simple home pregnancy test can provide further reassurance.

Hi.. I wanted to enquire I had unprotected sex about 7 to 6 days before my periods but I took p2 5 hours after unprotected sex is there possibility of being pregnant

Female | 20

Unprotected sex near a menstrual cycle decreases the chances of pregnancy. The emergency contraceptive pill (P2), taken within 5 hours, reduces the risk, but it's not foolproof. Signs like fatigue, nausea, and a missed period could indicate pregnancy. If concerned, take a pregnancy test after your expected period date for reassurance.
