Is it too late for folic acid for baby growth?

Patient's Query

I have missed my last period in oct 2025 and I have not consulted yet to doctor.i heard that folic acid is necessary for baby growth.am I too late.

Answered by Dr. Nisarg Patel

Missing a period could be due to various reasons like stress, hormonal changes, or pregnancy. When it comes to folic acid, it's indeed essential for baby's growth. It's not too late to start taking it. I recommend you consult with a gynecologist soon to confirm if you're pregnant and discuss the importance of folic acid. They can guide you on the right supplements and provide care for a healthy pregnancy. It's always better to address these concerns early on for the best outcomes.

Confused about Implantation Bleeding or Menses

Female | 20

Implantation bleeding is a light discharge that is caused when a fertilized egg attaches itself to the wall of the uterus. It usually happens 6-12 days after ovulation and it can be confused with a light period. Nevertheless, noticeable blood loss or very strong pain may indicate a more severe problem. If you have any concern, please visit a gynecologist for a thorough examination.

Hello doctor, I was diagnosed PCOS last year… And from this year onwards I am on homeopathic medicines, and day before yesterday I had unprotected sex, can I have an IPILL along with the homeopathic medicines?

Female | 26

If you've had sex without protection, you are at high risk of getting pregnant, so don’t miss taking contraceptive pills but it is better to talk to your doctor once
