Should I Retest for Pregnancy with Ongoing Brown Spotting?

Patient's Query

Missed periods for 15 days , took pregnancy test after 7 days of missed period and test result is negative. Spotting of dark brown from 10 days and still continues. Last period date is Sept -26th. Do I need to take pregnancy test again and brown spotting is normal or any condition of health issue ?

Answered by Dr. Himali Patel

Missing periods and a negative pregnancy test can happen due to various reasons, like hormonal imbalances, stress, or changes in weight. The brown spotting you're experiencing could be what we call implantation bleeding or just irregular shedding of the uterine lining. It's actually quite common and not always a sign of something serious. However, if it continues or you have other symptoms like pain or fever, it's best to see a gynecologist for a check-up. You could consider taking another pregnancy test in a week or so, just to be sure.

Maam I'm 7 weeks pregnant, l had consumed hing in pomogranate seed size, is it danger or I will det miscarriage? I am afraid of tat plz reply to me

Female | 20

Consuming asafoetida, even in pomegranate seed size, is generally safe during pregnancy. It's a little bit impossible to miscarry this one. In case you feel strange such as having intense belly pains, a lot of blood including stains, or giddiness, you must seek help from your health doctor. Seek peace and avoid being too anxious. Your body is strong and small amounts of asafoetida can be tolerated. A balanced diet and your doctor's advice for a healthy pregnancy are still the things you should remember.

I suffer from periods issue ,,when i started weight gaining foods start gaining some weight ,,,blood amount increases in body . I start to suffer from heavy menustral flow

Female | 25

Weight gain could be the reason for your heavy periods. It can lead to hormonal changes, increasing blood volume and resulting in heavier periods. This happens because fat cells produce estrogen, which affects the menstrual cycle. To help regulate your periods, try maintaining a healthy weight by incorporating a balanced diet and regular exercise into your routine.

Good morning doctor Please, I’ve been super worried, I haven’t seen my period in 3months now. I did a profile test and discovered my prolactin levels were a little higher than normal so I was placed on a cabargoline drug for a month alongside ciprofloxasin but yet I haven’t seen my period still and I had a negative pregnancy test result. I did thyroid function test and it states everything is normal. Please, what is wrong with me? ?

Female | 23

Menstrual cycle can be disrupted by the higher levels of prolactin hormone that may lead to irregular periods or even missed periods. Cabergoline is administered to regulate the prolactin hormone secretion. But if you still have not regular periods even though you started taking this medicine, see a doctor again or you can take a second opinion
