Why Do I Have Vaginal Pain and Burning?

Patient's Query

Vaginal pain and burning sensation

Answered by Dr. Swapna Chekuri

There are a few reasons for vaginal pain and a burning sensation. It could be a yeast infection, which is common and easily treatable. Sometimes, it could also be due to a urinary tract infection or irritation from soaps or laundry detergents. To get a clearer picture, I recommend you see a gynecologist who can do a thorough examination. In the meantime, try to wear cotton underwear, avoid tight clothing, and stay hydrated.

I suggest you see a gynecologist if the vomiting and loss of appetite happens after taking the abortion pill. Such conditions might point to a partial abortion or infection.

I took emergency contraception on April 13th and I got my normal period on April 26th. This month my period is late. I’m not sure whether this could be due to stress I’ve been worried about my cortisol levels and have been experiencing some associated symptoms like fatigue and nausea but I’m also worried that I could be pregnant

Female | 18

If your period is late, it’s okay to worry. Stress can throw off your cycle, causing it to be late or even completely miss it. Feeling tired or throwing up could also be symptoms of stress. If you took the morning-after pill and then got your period, you probably aren’t pregnant. It is better to wait a little longer and see if it comes. If your period still hasn’t shown up, take a test just to be sure.

Pregnancy test kit I got faint line

Female | 25

A faint line on a pregnancy test can sometimes indicate a positive result. In many pregnancy tests, even a faint line can suggest the presence of the pregnancy hormone hCG. A faint line could mean that you are in the early stages of pregnancy, as hCG levels might not be very high yet. So it's recommended to take another test after a few days to see if the line becomes clearer.

I haven’t had a cycle since October 28th it’s December 1st now should I take a pregnancy test?

Female | 20

Yes, it's a good IDEA to take a PREGNANCY test now. A MISSED period could mean PREGNANCY, but other factors including stress, weight changes, or medications could also be the cause.. PREGNANCY tests detect the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in URINE.. It's recommended to take the test in the morning as it's when hCG levels are highest.. If the result is negative and period doesn't come within a week, consider consulting with a HEALTHCARE provider..

Hi I had unprotected sex with my partner 2 days before my period and 2 days later my period started at the correct time and all but my bleeding is less and I feel nauseous, am I pregnant

Female | 20

It's difficult to determine pregnancy solely based on the timing and characteristics of your period, as there can be variations in menstrual cycles and bleeding patterns. Also , symptoms like nausea can have various causes and may not necessarily indicate pregnancy.

You might face normal breastfeeding troubles. Feeling drained, achy arms and legs, nipples hurting - it happens when your baby bites while feeding. Babies bite during teething. Offer a teething toy first to soothe baby's gums. Try changing your breastfeeding position to reduce nipple pain. Ensure proper latch to avoid discomfort.
