Answers by Dr. Ninad V Katdare
Hello Sir, one of my friends found blood in his stool somewhat in 2020. As it was not regular and didn't cause any discomfort, he ignored this. Just 2 months back the blood stated shown frequently and he began to experience acute pain in his pelvis. And he consulted a doctor. Now he has been diagnosed with stage three rectal cancer. He stays near Dehradun. Doctor asked him to consult some other place. He is devastated now and confused about what to do now. I am asking on his behalf. We would be thankful if you could suggest a suitable name experienced in handling these stage cases. His family is ready to take him to another city as well.

As patient is in stage 3, he will need radiation followed by surgery followed by chemotherapy. If he follows the above-mentioned plan properly the cancer can be completely cured. We request you to start the treatment at the earliest.
Here is the list of Cancer hospitals in India.
My father was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer 5 years back and treated with surgery and chemo in Chennai. He was cancer free. But he was recently diagnosed with gastric cancer at an early stage. Doctor asked it is curable but we are anxious cause he is 69 and we really don't know whether he can take this trauma. Please suggest a good hospital in Chennai that is good for Gastric cancer

In very early cancers I.e stage 1 mucosal - just an excision from inside the stomach is needed. It can be done endoscopically without any sutures or scars. However if it is slightly advanced, then the surgery will be a bit complex as he already has undergone surgery for the esophagus. However if the disease is limited, he should definitely undergo treatment for the stomach cancer .
I've experienced dark blood in my feces and soreness under my right rib cage for the past three weeks. I'm also losing my appetite and becoming incredibly bloated and uncomfortable anytime I eat anything, even if it's only a small amount. I was diagnosed with pancreas cancer after undergoing numerous tests. But my doctor is not telling me anything clearly, he is not answering my queries. which makes me more anxious. Please suggest something to me. I want to go for a second opinion. I live in Patna.

For pancreas cancer we need a PETCT scan and a biopsy (ercp guided if towards the duodenum or ct guided if in the head body or tail of pancreas.) This will give the stage of the disease. Based on the above reports oncologist can guide you further line of treatment.
I am from Jorhat and I was diagnosed with bowel cancer on 27th December. I had a colonoscopy and a CT scan, and the consultant wanted to have an endoscopy, which I have not done yet. But before that I would like to consult with another doctor.

A coloscopy with biopsy and a PETCT scan (or ct scan or thorax, abdomen and pelvis) is mandatory in the complete work up of colon cancer. Colon cancer is one of the few cancers in which there is treatment available right upto the 4th(last) stage. So I advise you to get the colonoscopy and biopsy at the earliest and get the treatment started.
